Scam?! Order history manipulated, requiring double purchases of the same manual
Wow, where to begin with this?!
First, why I think this is possibly a scam:
I purchased online access to the Haynes manual mid april.
I could access the manual via their platform under 'My digital purchases'.
I was able to access it then in their browser.
A couple of days later when I needed access again, it disappeared from my orders and instead my order history changed to a random PDF of the same model car, but with few pages and only some explanations on where the brake fluid reservoir is, 12V battery location etc... also in a different language.
Nothing too technical, very basic, no torque specs either,... Unusable!
A huge watermark on it too, making it difficult to read.
My access to the manual I bought was gone and my order history was changed to something I didn't order!
Very handy when you're working on the car and need their manual while you're busy.
Luckily my invoice showed that I ordered the Haynes manual and not this crappy PDF.
I called them (you will never talk to a human, since it's a robot voice telling you to e-mail them), I e-mailed (both in French and also in English) and also sent messages via Facebook and after more than a day I got zero response.
I had to buy the same manual again (this time the price was higher) just to get access to it again! Absurd!
I've contacted them again because I wanted a refund of the second time I payed for it (with the higher price) but they only reimbursed the lower amount.
My e-mails are being ignored for more than a week now, I'm not getting replies over Facebook either.
Second, as the other review says:
You don't get a PDF, you have to view it inside the browser.
You can't print it to a PDF either, that's all locked.
There's no way to search for words either.
If you're on the browser quite some time, it doesn't load new pages.
So you have to refresh and manually go back to the page you're on.
A real hassle...
