Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs.

I had been in the market for new chairs for our restaurant and cafe for a long time. These ones stood out straight away due to their stylish design.

We ordered 50 green for our cafe & 50 charcoal for our restaurant. The cafe chairs have been fine, nice matte finish, easy to stack, even colour.

Franka called close to our delivery date to let us know that they’ve sold out of charcoal. I begrudgingly chose black as it was getting down to the wire for delivery before our busy peak season.

Even with changing colours the chairs arrived 3 months late. Missing our peak season.

The black chairs started faulting straightaway. They had a shiny appearance even though we were assured the black was matte (like the charcoal). The black started wearing off almost immediately. Customers would leave with black specks of stuff on their clothes and body.

It took almost 12 months to get replacement chairs. Many times I asked for a refund but was assured the new chairs ‘were arriving soon’. We have now had the charcoal chairs for about 6 months and 8 have broken as customers sat on them. Just collapsed and broke into two.

These are chairs. Customers just sit on them. Franks keeps saying that we are cleaning them wrong, storing them wrong, stacking them wrong. They literally sit in a restaurant and are used for purpose.

Franka also assured us (pre purchase) that they are perfectly suitable in a hospitality setting.

So green batch fine. Black batch finished incorrectly causing peeling, flaking and staining. Charcoal batch structurally unsound.

Strongly advise absolute caution when dealing with franka.com.au

I would strongly advise absolute caution when dealing with this business.

I purchased furniture totalling almost $2,500 in September ‘25 - and order was paid in full on same day. Delivery was initially promised within approximately one month of purchase date. When that time frame passed without any communication, I had to follow up myself and was advised of a delay until November. The same pattern continued—no proactive updates, and only vague responses when I chased them.

By mid-December, I was told the delivery would be pushed to January ‘26. After yet another delay and no communication, I requested a full refund in mid-January as I was told by Franka the goods received from their manufacturer were not to their quality standard.

Unfortunately, this is where the situation only worsened. My refund request was continually ignored, and multiple follow-up emails all went unanswered. In March, I finally received a response promising a full refund by the end of that week. That refund has still not been processed, and all subsequent attempts to make contact have been completely ignored. Managed to contact via their webpage chat last week in April and again was promised full refund by weeks end – regretfully again no funds have been received.
This experience has been both extremely frustrating and disappointing. There has been a consistent ghosting of emails, lack of communication, failure to meet commitments, and now a failure to refund a significant amount of money. Potentially non-disclosed liquidity issues?

Money owed remains outstanding effective early May ‘26.

I simply cannot recommend this business based on my experience and strongly suggest potential purchasers choose an alternate retailer.
