Daylight Robbery

Used the EV charger at Wylam car park. The first charge was stopped abruptly for no reason so I tried again. Shocked to discover I had now been charged twice for a pre-authorisation of £60! It still hasn't cleared and speaking to them on the phone the adviser also informed me that my relatively short charge time had cost over £7! I only used it for about 20 mins. I'm guessing a full charge could potentially cost up to £30 which makes it almost as much as filling up with petrol. Terrible service - AVOID and try another reputable EV charging service. The most I've ever had to pay on the A1 services was around £5.

Overcharged by 2143%

I used the 50kw CHAdeMO at Franklin Terrace Car Park in Morpeth. After 25 mins and 8kw, I was charged £30. I complained through Northumberland CC who informed me that Franklin Energy operate this charger on their behalf and passed on their contact details. When I phoned to complain, I was told that a full refund would be made. Having checked my bank account today to confirm if that refund had been made, I was absolutely shocked to find that I had been charged another £30. Absolutely shocking, please do not use as you do not know what you are paying for and complaints make you pay double.

I attempted to charge a Tesla model S with ccs adaptor at the Sheffield Waitrose fast charger. Started , then stopped. Then various error messages. In comparison I used a gridserve ccs charger no problem first time.

Extremely Over charged for a charge!!

Thought I’d charge my car whilst at work today. Battery was 54% charged already. When I left work mid afternoon 8 miles had been added which was fine until my bank app advised me the cost was £31. It would have cheaper to pay parking for a whole week. Never going to use this again and wouldn’t recommend anyone else to either.

ELVI home charger

I had an ELVI home charger installed a few month's ago. I hadn't realised its a decent amount of kit with earthing rod and you need a specialist. Franklin's engineer, Kenny, went above and beyond, coming back the next day (Sunday) when we had to leave the house unexpectedly. And its good to know you're in safe hands. Whilst, charging at home is through ELVI, Franklin have their own charging network that you get with their welcome pack which is handy to have as its works across UK and Europe we were happy to use.
