I was checking out at self check out. Entered phone number message needed to re enter which I did no problems but suddenly from my left a clerk is leaning over me yelling at me to enter my phone number I said I did no problem please leave me alone then I scan item tap credit card to pay and am waiting for it to process-no problems whatsoever when another clerk comes from my right yelling at me to enter my pin and the person on my left is physically hovering over me yelling at me the person on my right is hovering over me invading my space yelling at me. By this time my card has processed the clerk on my right is yelling at me that I'm done. When you tap a card you don't have to enter pin and if you did I didn't even have a chance to do so. I was not holding up anything there if anything they were the once holding up the process. They were in touching area of my face yelling and waving their hands in my face. Again-I had no problems, I never called for any assistance, the machine processed my card no problems. When I saw I had not entered a digit in phone number I just entered it no problems. I made a complaint and the manager sent it to the wrong store and got my name wrong. I had 2 complaints she addressed the other one and sent the complaint to a different store that wasn't even Fred Meyer in a different city.
The worst chicken in town
I do not know who's ideal is was to change the chicken recipe it is now the worst chicken and I no longer buy it. It was the best chicken in the state. Someone need to fix this.
FredMeyer.com avoiding responsibility on returns
I purchased items through FredMeyer.com and tried to return them but was told I had to work with the 3rd party vendor that manufactured the products. The vendor has completely ignored my requests for authorization for return and Fred Meyer has stated it’s not their problem. Even though the purchase was through their website and the terms showed returns were allowed.
Watch your bank statements and your receipts
Unbelievable abuse of access to peoples credit card and debit card authorizations. It's a money maker to drop the pick up fee for groceries as the employees can charge and tack on whatever they feel like. Total disregard for pricing or law. Every time I've used pick up I have been overcharged...in store it's common as well. Customer service was called...45 mins for nothing...spoke with Janelle in Texas but called Portland OR. Harold at store level BS'd his way through a definite breach and was more than a bit vindictive...but POWER right? The financial and personal data they store UNSECURED has already been breached and left many of the their customers damaged. They didn't do anything but free monitoring nor have they changed their ways except for allowing employees to make charges without disclosure. I'm filing a complaint with our states Attorney's General but he's a goober so it won't do any good.
Receipt & digital deals not on your receipt
Digital deals didn't work charged wrong at checkout. Checker didn't fix. Courtesy counter had difficulty time w/o override charged amount. If you just check out & leave Fred Meyer is screwing you. The digital coupon savings is f..c..k . Don't shop there until they send you a response & Fix the screw up. Costco, Walmart, WINCO HAVE you exact bill at checkout & not at the Courtesy counter to wait,wait wait.
Fred Meyers is my favorite store
I like shopping at Fred Meyers, the clerks are friendly and help me put the groceries in my basket. The produce department is very good and we appreciate the sales.
My only request is to return to stocking the Falls brand of chorizos. I make Basque Spanish rice and this is the best and only brand of chorizos that I use.

I used to shop at Fred Meyer, 3rd and Thor, practically daily. I even used the pharmacy there and I now shop at Walmart or Yokes, I even stopped using their pharmacy. The pharmacy changes its employees more than I change my underwear for one, there's one lady there that for some reason treated me horribly, she's snapped at me and was talked to because of her behavior but it didn't help so I stopped using it. The bags they use are a joke, you see the handles all over the parking lot, you can't have anything heavier that toilet paper in their bags or the handles will rip off. It's also annoying to use the self check out by the restrooms because you hear an annoying Beep Beep the whole time your checking out or waiting for someone to unlock the bathroom for you. The customer service area is horrible as well. They have 1 person working there even if the line is extremely long and last but not least the gas discount, you used to be able to build up 20 cents, 30 cents and use it but now you are only allowed to use 10 cents at a time. With gas prices being what they are I used to get up to 30 cents and use it when I'd fill up my car. That's gone now.

Coeur d alene location so I but flowers multile times monthly 4 or 5 today I go in to buy flowers because of mother's day it took longer because prices are 23xs more shame . I ASKED THE LADYto wrap them she said she had door dash orders it would be aboutn15min fin now I'm in a handicap cart because of my knee and lupus she asked me to pay for them I said ok usually the cut the price off the plastic and you go pay Inasked her tondo that and she very rudely say you can go pay and being them back .I asked her again could you please I'm in pain I don't want to jeep going back and forth she says NO RUDELY.so I tell manager I'm upset and this point crying because every single time we go and it is her she is just rude and she is suppose to be the lead all the others are supper nice and she is just RUDE RUDE! THE MANAGER COULD CARE LESS AO I left I buy alot there they will not gwt my business .I'm not going to spend my money someplace out right rude . Shame on you on mothers day never the less and why only one person in that dept really fred wow!!!
I had a 10 dollar off coupon if I spent…
I had a 10 dollar off coupon if I spent 100.00, so I spent 130.00 on items we needed. When the delivery came the woman said she couldnt find some of our allergy medicine and cough syrup. This made the total go down to 99.96...4 cents away from 100.00 so they refused to honor the coupon. I contacted the store and asked if I could pay the 4 cents to get the 10 dollars off, and they said I would need to spend another 100.00 to use the coupon. I will never shop at Fred Meyers again.

Scammers
This company constantly rips people off. Making millions by scamming their customers. They show specials for 2 for a certain price or other scam specials to get people to buy extra and never give you the discount. It is a big scam they have going even admitted from people who work there. When I called the store, they gave me a number to call to get the credit back to my card. When I called them and waited on hold and jumped through the phony robot system, I finally got a hold of a person and they told me I had to go back to the store. I asked if they were going to pay my fuel let alone my time to drive clear back to the store and they said oh no we can't do that. Some agency should give them a HUGE fine to send a message to these scammers. No wonder they can offer Billions to buy Albertsons. Probably can buy them just off the profit from scamming people.
It reminded me why I quit shopping there. They have not and will not change!

Your W. 11th st. store in Eugene Oregon HAS to be an embarrassment to the Kroger Company. Not only are a lot of the shelves empty or only partially with limited items, the shopping carts are rarely available in the store. Generally you have to bring one from the parking lot to ensure you have a cart. In addition, your isles are poorly labeled as to what is in a particular isle. i.e. Baking goods should be everything to do with baking, not Ice Cream toppings which should be at or near the Ice Cream isle. You used to have designated Isles for Organic foods, those Isles are gone and the Organic foods are intermingled with non-organic, Providing the shelves are stocked. You stock grocery items with expiation dates only a few days away. I've shopped at your springfield store, they don't have any problem stocking their shelves or keeping shopping carts available IN THE STORE. For myself, about the only thing your W 11 st. store is good for is maybe buying apples, oranges and bananas. When you remodeled the W 11 st. store, I went from a good and pleasant store to a disorganized, unpleasant and very frustrating store. I'm now going to drive to Safeway on either Coburg or W 18 st. for my major shopping needs. They don't seem to have a problem keeping their shelves stocked or carts in the store. My review is based on not only today, 3-4-2024, but at least 4 other days wishing the last month or so, ALL with similar experiences and results.
Reasonable fair prices
I feel Fred Meyer's offers a variety of merchandise at reasonable prices. They have their weekly coupons that are exceptionally good most of the time. Easy to navigate website and stores.
Talk about greedy
Talk about greedy! They weren’t satisfied ripping us off by charging $.50 to give us cash back, they’ve raised it to $.75. I don’t know of any other store that does that. I go out of my way to spend my money at their competitors.

Fred Meyers Marketing Practices …
It seems to me Fred Meyers stores get their food from dumpsters and then sell it to their customers. Chips Ahoy cookies were stale as all hell! Yet the packaging looked and felt brand spanking new. I brought it to customer service and they embarrassed me accusing me of pilfering!!! Really? The cookies were unbelievably stale. Absolutely flavorless. They were oily and looked too thin and burnt. No expiration date. Maybe something I should have looked for. The shelf price was on sale at $2.00 a box but went up to $4.49 at the self-checkout, something else I didn't notice. And the reason why they accused me of pilfering is because I had previously taken back three other items on separate occasions. Simple Truth bottle of spirulina tablets which had no list of ingredients, and after opening it the tablets look like 90% filler only 10% spirulina. I've been involved with spirulina for 41 years. I know Spirulina. The other products were ground coffee that had misleading labeling and were flavorless and stale as well. Every time I go in this store I feel like I'm dumpster diving, something which I had never done, however, it seems like the dumpster has become the store itself.
Horrible Fraud Department Customer Service
I like Fred Meyer in general but earlier this year I had an encounter with their fraud department that left me incredibly unhappy with the company in general.
I purchased a Boost Membership online. The charge went through and then was immediately reversed by Fred Meyer. I did not cancel it or file any kind of complaint about it. A few days later, my account was blocked. Because of a disability I do most of my shopping online so this was incredibly frustrating. They also blocked my sister's account. And it took MONTHS to resolve.
Ultimately what they did was charge and reverse the charge on my approved card and then fraudulently charge and reverse the charge on my sister's credit card (which was used at one time for a purchase but was not saved to my account). They claimed that both she and I disputed the charges and demanded letters from our banks saying that the dispute had been reversed. Again - whoever was processing the payment charged and reversed this in both accounts.
This started on May 28th and was not resolved until the end of August. It took 10 emails to the Fraud Department, which all took - in most cases - weeks - to hear back from. Each time they said the same thing. I don't think they ever even read the emails. When it was finally resolved there was no apology or even the slightest professional nicety to acknowledge that they screwed up or the considerable inconvenience they caused for months.
Yes, I still shop there, but they lost my trust.
