DO NOT BELEIVE THE LIFETIME WARRANTY Freedom Pools (South Australia) has…
Freedom Pools (South Australia) has been disgusting to deal with, we are very disappointed with the service, the quality of the fiberglass shell, poor installation, communication, and after-sales service from Freedom Pools. This pool and Installation have been defective virtually from the start and the pool has not been able to be used for its intended use.
They will not and do not stand by their warranties and could not care less that you have spent a lot of money.
I have outlined the events below.
• Rework of pipework which was incorrectly installed.
• Pipes collapsed under the heater intake and exhaust pipes, and Freedom had no idea why this happened.
• One month later Heater begins to leak.
• 2 months later Pipes under the Heater collapsed again
• Another 2 months Pipes collapse again.
• After 9 months of use a huge crack appears and our pool is now obsolete and a total waste of money
• They have now offered to try and fix the fiberglass, but all the other costs would be our responsibility the crane hire, removal, of the pool, and installation of the fixed pool. This amounts to over $25,000 and all they will do is try and fix the fiberglass I would hate to think what would happen if they could not fix the shell
We have an engineering inspection and a Quality surveyor pool expert who both have come up with the same conclusion that it was poorly installed, and the shell was at the bottom end of the standard.
We are aware of other people who have had problems with Freedom Pools and have been ignored or denied responsibility.
We have discussed with Freedom Pools as stated by our engineer that no cement was found in the backfill soil and that we observed very little extra effort or detail in the installation and no compacting of soil, and it was washed down with a garden hose. I note that other people have said that their installers had paid particular attention to stairs and ledge but that didn’t happen in our case.
The standpipe has always been dry. The pool was not installed level The response so far has been that in their opinion is that water has entered the excavation through the gaps in between the paving and the coping and that because our pavers are not sloping away from the pool and the reason behind this is they are very close to (200 ml) to our foundations.
We also note that some pools have natural lawns, fake grass, and gardens surrounding them which would also have water seeping through to the excavation site. Currently, the shell and the bond are sinking, surely if this was installed correctly then the bond should be holding it in place, and it should not be sinking. I would have thought with a good Installation that a small amount of seepage would be fine, but as they are inferring that seepage has washed away the soil from the pool, that it would have to be a significant amount of water creating upward pressure on the pool and that we would have had some signs of bowing prior to the crack. The engineer says that the amount of seepage would not have contributed to the crack in the shell, the crack happened in February at a time when there was minimal rain and a 40° day, so this does not back up their theory. I believe Freedom Pools brushes us off with the knowledge that legal action is something most people can't afford, there is a lot of reviews from people not happy with their warranty and Installation
