Freenet is one of the worst companies I have dealt with in Germany. I signed a two-year contract for internet at €11.98 per month, but they have been charging me much more than the agreed amount. For example, during the last four months, they charged me over €16 per month, and this month they charged me more than €26.
Whenever I contact customer service to ask for an explanation, I do not receive a proper answer. In some cases, the representatives have even ended the call without resolving my issue.
I do not recommend this company at all. I feel that customers are being treated unfairly and overcharged. Very disappointing service.

Unbegrenzt does not mean Unbegrenzt
Unbegrenzt does not mean Unbegrenzt. Classic error. Their “unlimited” home 5G is limited to 400Gb per month. 10/10 for pulling the wool over my eye. Stay away. go to O2, Telekom or Voda direct.

This FRAUDULENT company is absolute shit. The Internet connection is slow, no where near the 300mbps advertised in my contract. They also completely disable your sim card while you're outside Germany in the first two months. No calls, no texts, no Internet, if I had actually transferred my main number to this company I would have been completely ****** for the few weeks I was abroad (within EU). I then called them to find out what is going on and at the end of the call they advertised two extra monthly subscription add-ons that I refused to sign up for and then they just went right ahead and activated them anyways! I don't understand how it's possible for such a company to operate in Germany.
STAY AWAY!0.5% to 10% of promised speed and terrible customer service
I am writing this to warn everyone : Freenet is a complet scam.I pay for an 'Allnet Unlimited Advanced ' wich is supposed to deliver 50mb/s ,but i receive 2-4 MB/s sometimes 1 MB/s often as low aș 0,23 MB/s.This is less than 10% of the service that i pay for !
This is not a serious company ,they Just recycle network capacity from Lager providers and when the network gets crowded ,you are left with nothing.Their costumer support is incredibile rude and dismissive.I contacted them(Ticket 2018510135T)with over 40 official speed Test as proof and a representative from the company basically told me that they don t care because ' no minimum speed was agreed upon'.
They clearly ignore German Telecommunications Law(TKG 57).They expect me to keep paying full price like a fool for a service i cannot use . They offer zero tehnical solutions ,only excuses about 'building materials 'or 'network load'.
If the internet fails ,you are în your own,but they never fail to take your money.Avoid Freenet at all cost.

Relentless calls and shocking disrespect for basic boundaries
My experience with Freenet has been extremely negative. I receive persistent calls throughout the day — sometimes repeatedly — despite clearly saying “No” and “Please do not call me again.”
What’s most concerning is the behavior of the callers themselves. If they don’t like your answer or you refuse their offer, they will simply hang up on you mid-conversation. It feels dismissive, unprofessional, and deeply disrespectful.
This is not normal customer contact — it feels intrusive and harassing when a company ignores explicit requests to stop calling. Customers should not have to defend their boundaries over and over.
⚠️ Warning to others: If you value respectful communication and your privacy, be cautious. In my experience, your “no” may be ignored.

I had my mobile SIM card turned off and roaming disabled while I was in Switzerland. I only turned it on when I was 30 minutes from the border into France and somehow I still got charged €40.
Do not start a contract with this company. They are impossible to contact without calling them, the contact form is buried deep in their website, so deep I have yet to find it. The charges they have while you travel are so unfair, even with roaming turned off you can get charged, there’s no way to protect yourself.
Long term customer
Hassle free company with good prices and great promotional opportunities.
Scam
My contract with them (sim card + Iphone 14) was ending in mid-2025. They called me around October 2024 to see if I would like a discount on my monthly payments. I said yes.
Come contract end time, I try to get another contract to buy the new iphone, they send me an email saying your contract was renewed.
After going to the shop, I found out that when I agreed to the discount, I also agreed that I will be renewing my contract with them for two years automatically. No one ever told me this.
This is such a scam I'd expect from low lives, not from Freenet :)
Date is accurate give or take

I renewed the first time my contract with these people, the sales guy on the phone took details and ended up giving me subscription for antivirus, some tv program, and send me a cheap phone instead of the one we agreed on.
Second time I renenwed I went to the shop and guys made me sign the contract, then went to look for the iphone 16 and didn't find it, they said the stock also doesn't have it, do you want and iphone 15, I said ok just give me, again it's not there and you will get it in few weeks. one month later I went and asked to cancel because the start date of the new renewal is not here yet. they gave me an email address to contact to do the cancellation.
Now today I was checking my bank account and found out some warrentee is being paid 8€ per month, and I checked further I found out it was there for many years, I tried to log in and check what was this for ? it was actually the warrentee for the cheap phone I was given the first time. the phone is dead for years and I don't even remember I dealt with this warrantee company. so the sales guy saw me speaking english and just threw whatever there may be to get bonus.
This company doesn't stop from amazing me of how scamy they are.
Affordable data plans with mobile phone
