Very shady business, technically unreliable, close to being a scam

This is practically an owner of free TLD on the web. However being registrar it's offering also other payed for TLD. For the payed domains you should walk away immediately from freenom. For the free TLD (.ml,.tk...) there is no choice aside freenom, so as long you can afford to lose your domain at anytime and not get it back you can use their service.

In reality freenom is very shady business, technically unreliable, sneeky in freezing your TLD and then requesting you to pay for it and similar.

Scam

Tried several times with 1level (.com) domains.
DNS management not working, unable to transfer domains. Their control panel returns errors everywhere for everything you do. Random domain deactivation.
There's NO support assistance.
There's a lot better at the same price.

I am Very Happy

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the exceptional home cleaning services provided by gocleanersgo , and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the entire process was professional, making it a truly stress-free experience.

Freedom is awesome. And the best provider at their time, now there is only few random people may b 5 person total in organization.

They don't earn any profit from domains.

They also not upgraded there website, make be they are not in domain business anymore. But you should appreciate them because they are still alive.

Freenom service is still far better than today's big co called company's

I used freenom when i when i was very young.

I come from a nonprofit organization

I come from a nonprofit organization, and currently working as a designer for Kage Studio; I was using a free domain name, .tk, registered with freedom. Use only six months, and now my domain is set as a fraud by liberty, while it only operates for blog posts that I use to write notes on my side.

They took off the domain name, and now I can't do anything with the domain.

They are fraudulent and scam.

Domain cancelled after 2 years

I have been using a free domain, prochazka.ml, for over 2 years now. Today, for an unknown reason, the domain now redirects to Freenom.com saying that the "page was not found" (whatever that's supposed to mean).

If you just want to play around with a free domain, sure, Freenom will probably do the job. But I would highly discourage anyone from using their services for anything remotely important.

I used to use freenom in the past

I used to use freenom in the past, and all the claims that they take the domain name, that they don't answer tickets etc, were all found FALSE for me while I was using several domains for FREE. These claims were already there 6+ years ago and are still here today

I haven't tried the paid services.

Just wanted to tell about my experience but maybe I was lucky, I don't know.

Well they do provide free domains but…

Well they do provide free domains but their business model is very sketchy, since one of my sites gained some traction guess what, i can't even login to my freenom account and the domain name I had is now being used for some advertising like BRUH.

Until recently freenom worked ok

Until recently freenom worked ok. I guess the domain resolution still works. I have to renew domains, so I go to their site. It times out, try again later, I try again many times, nothing. I check downorblocked website checker and it says its ok, so I try accessing via tor and strangely it now works. But I can't pay, the payment processor maybe doesn't like Tor.

Their support has not replied to a ticket in over two years. I gave up creating tickets.

These guys are totally useless and should lose whatever kind of licence it is that allows them to sell domains.

Their domains are cheaper than anywhere else, that's true, and those trying to imply otherwise are using special offers in places like namecheap. Those places are generally far higher prices except for an odd bizarre TLD that almost nobody would want anyway.

But what use is a slightly cheaper domain price if they are unrelaible?

Update 21 Nov 2022:
I got a reply to the last ticket, I had trouble doing the bank transfer. This is now ok. The reason I had to do a bank transfer is because I can't use my debit card over Tor (verification fails) and I can't access their website using any IP address from my country.

Update Apr 2023

If you're experiencing problems, you can maybe overcome the worst of them by using freenom's own DNS servers in your network settings. The site will at least load pages once this is set. It's still full of mistakes but at least it makes it useable enough to transfer your domains!

Massive Amounts Of Spam Emails

I am receiving 20+ spam emails from this domain daily for about a week or so.
It’s absolutely ridiculous.
I will be contacting my state’s attorney general about this if it does not stop.

Well I am not sure why, but in one day, I started getting a whole bunch of emails with the username, "noreply" from freenom.com - I've never gotten them before until today. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
