Great service and speedy delivery
Great service and speedy delivery. Looking at some of the reviews, I was surprised by some of the feedback that was given. After a bit of digging I now understand as of 2019 the site is run by new management (main man Sam) whom seems to be on it, and most importantly loves bikes and has given me a over and above service every time. Even throwing in a cool freebie now and again.
Highly recommend for cool bike stuff, don’t hesitate!
Quick delivery
I was cautious to order from Freshtripe given the poor reviews but failed to find Velo Orange mudguards stocked elsewhere in the UK.
I messaged the company via Facebook messenger to double check the stock was correct before ordering and had a swift response which was reassuring.
I recieved the mudguards within 3 days of ordering and had confirmation emails along the way notifying me as things were processed.
I can't comment on difficulties regarding refunds but I'm glad I bit the bullet as I avoided expensive ebay shipping costs from international or spending double for a pair of Honjos.
Same bad experience as other have written about
This store doesn't take responsibility when they send you the wrong item. When you return them to claim a refund, they just send you the item you wanted (but already bought from another store while dealing with the Bicycle Ambulance BS). This store refuses to communicate through email, you have to call them and when they pick up they are very unclear and ambiguous.

A great company run by my local bike shop. I have used the collection in store a number of times with no issue. Order in the evening and its ready and waiting the next morning.

Ordered over the weekend and item was dispatched on Monday by lunchtime and received the next day. Couldn't ask for an easier purchase. Not sure about all these negative reviews, but I would buy again.
Terrible online service
I ordered a specific type of fitting for a mudguard and was sent the wrong one intentionally, as they were out of stock of the one i ordered. Even though it says they are in stock on their website.
Instead of just refunding me for that item, they just sent out the wrong one and told me to bend it to the correct shape myself. It has now been
over a month and i have not received a refund or the item that i ordered.
Freshtripe also do not manage their online shop themselves. It is run by 'Bicycle Ambulance'.
Terrible communication
There's a theme developing here...
Ordered a hub, heard nothing for weeks. Finally got a reply to emails say it'd be with me in a couple of days. Two weeks went by, with another ignored email. I opened a dispute in PayPal and that prompted a message from Freshtripe saying the item had been shipped. I did finally receive the item a few days later.
They have such great products but such terrible service - I really hope I don't need any hub spares from them!
I work in a bicycle shop and understand sometimes items are hard to get hold of or go out of stock, if they'd have just let me know and responded to my emails I wouldn't be so incredibly annoyed.
Buy from somewhere else if you can, which is pretty hard when they're the distributor of Velo Orange in the UK.
Excellent products and service
I have been using freshtripe for many years and can't understand the reviews on this site - my goods have always been superb quality and usually delivered in a timely fashion. If there have been any delays (sometimes inevitable with niche stock, sourced from overseas) I have always been notified and given the option to cancel my order. Listen to a longstanding customer, not the 1-time naysayers! To be heartily recommended!
Items arrived eventually.
I have had the same experience as the other reviewers. I placed my order and paid, but the items took a long time to arrive. I was fairly sure I'd been fleeced but they did finally turn up. The lack of communication is the real problem. A few emails to advise that things are still in progress would have helped.
Avoid.
I have the exact same experience as Mattias, Walter, Marco Antonio, Tom Jeffs, Ben Fisher et al. Shame on me for not reading these reviews before giving the freshtripe people my money!

I ordered Velo Orange Crankset, paid for them. Over a month went by and I contacted the seller by email. He said that he will have them in 48 hours and send them to me right after that. Week went by and I didn't get a tracking number so I contacted the seller and he said that he has them stuck on customs and will get them next day or the day after that. Week went by and I filed a dispute at PayPal. I hope to get my money back. I work in bicycle shop and the one thing I have learned the most is that NEVER EVER promise somothing that you cannot 100 % sure deliver.
To be avoided
Basically I have the same experience as Ben Fisher.Ordered pieces about mid July and did not receive them. No answers on email nor phone. Escalation via PayPal and finally refund by PayPal (thank you PayPal).
It's a pity I have to give one star because fresthtripe doesn't even deserve a single one!!! Given the fact that there are so many similarities with B Fisher's story, I am temted to use the word fraudulent.
Until now I have had no answer nor apology from freshtripe, and although I have not suffered financial damage, I am still very angry with freshtripe.We are now mid September and I can start the ordering process all over because I had to wait until the case was closed by PayPal. This means I could not finish my bike build and here in Belgium velo orange parts are hard to find so I will have some difficulties finding an other dealer.
They have my money
Three months ago I had the bad idea of buying in FRESHTRIPE.
They have my pounds and my Bianchi doesn't has his bar.

Communication problems
I ordered a couple of items but while the money was taken from my Paypal account immediately, I had no contact from Freshtripe. I emailed them twice, the following week, but still heard nothing. I then raised a dispute with Paypal. Immediately following that, the company contacted me to say they'd emailed me last week that one of the items was out of stock (I did not receive this email). As the items were by then in stock, they immediately sent them out. I've received them today, well packaged and in great condition, so I cancelled the Paypal dispute.
I thought that this was a one-off thing, so I ordered something else. I have had exactly the same problems - no communication, no product (despite having paid them). Don't trust this company - they're clearly a bedroom outfit with little or no stock. Buy from someone who knows how to run a business.
Unacceptable buying experience, very poor communication.
I placed an order with Freshtripe on July 1st, and received an email just over a week later (July 9th) advising that the brake levers were due with them at the end of the week and a tracking number would be sent to me in due course.
By July 25th I had still not received my order, and had received no further contact from the seller. I emailed them to ask for either confirmation that the levers were on their way to me or a refund, and this email was ignored.
I then used the PayPal 'Resolution Centre' to send a further message to the seller asking what was happening, and again this message was ignored, and I received no response.
My final option was to escalate the claim via PayPal, handing it over to them to investigate, and finally this resulted in the seller issuing a refund. As of 29th July I have still had no contact from the seller explaining what has gone wrong with this order or offering an apology.
I'm usually very reluctant to write reviews like this, but having not received what I ordered and only just secured a refund just under a month after placing the order, without a word of communication from the seller, I feel the need to warn other buyers about this experience.
Fast, personable service supplying quality products
Ordered from them on numerous occasions. Every time the order is delivered quickly. On the odd case, an issue with a missing delivery was very quickly resolved.
And to top it off they have a great selection of high quality bike parts at very competitive prices. One of my favourite online bike shops.
