Brand new cracked desk

I bought a Fumac Upgrade with MDF board and linoleum finish from a third-party seller.

The desk arrived and I could notice imperfections around the edges. Fine, it might happen—it is wood.

Further during the assembly process, we saw the pre-made holes did not correspond to the position where we were supposed to screw the frame in.

Lastly, while screwing the handset where indicated by the pre-made holes, the edge cracked.

Now I have a new desk with a visible crack. If this is the quality I expect from a 5K+ desk, I'll get an IKEA one next time.
For comparison, I bought a Lisabo desk 5 years ago from IKEA, which is still perfect and intact.

I am not satisfied and I will not recommend this brand.

Dear Mattia,

Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry to hear about your negative experience with your new UPGRADE desk.

We recommend contacting your dealer. They will then contact us so that we get the necessary documentation to investigate your case.

We have dealers that have frames and desktops/tabletops at stock. It might be that your FUMAC top was meant for another frame from FUMAC – eg. a table and not a desk. Our desktops have pre-made holes for our desk frames and our tabletops have pre-made holes for our canteen or conference tables.

Furthermore, we have also experienced dealers that have desktops/tabletops from other brands that are sold together with FUMAC frames.

We always recommend abs-edging as abs-edging makes the table or desktops extra strong against damages from eg. handling damages and injuries.

Once again, we are sorry about your negative experience.

Best regards,

Tove Madsen

Can't recommend this manufacturer to anyone.

Bought a desk with a large table top and it doesn't fit the frame. The pre-drilled holes are too far out for the legs to catch.
The assembly instructions look to be drawn by hand and is lacking any sort of detail. One important detail I would have liked is how far from each other the legs can be pulled. The supplier I ordered from contacted the Factory and they just said "watch the assembly instruction video", in which they actually don't connect the table top with the frame. The middle of the frame covered up some of the holes, so the end solution was to just "use the holes that are not covered". I wonder who has the responsibility if everything falls apart. Probably me.
When I buy a product for over 9.000 DKK I really expect it to just work..

Can't recommend this manufacturer to anyone.

Dear Lasse,

We appreciate you taking your time to give us feedback.

We are sorry about the experience you’ve had assembling your desk. With several lines of frames in assortment each desk top is designed to fit all frames for higher flexibility and therefore all pre-drilled holes are not always needed.
This may seem confusing and we will look into how we can simplify the experience.

Once again thank you for your time. We hope you will enjoy your new desk despite the negative experience.

Best regards,
Tove Madsen
