Pump & Well Service, Awesome, Competent, Reliable & Competitive
Our well pump stopped on a Friday night about 11:30 pm. OK, it's not only a Friday after hours, but also a holiday weekend in Nevada (Nevada Day, 10/29/21)!
Being on a private well, we have always maintained a supply of drinking and flushing water. Saturday morning, I go ahead and call Kawchack's, they completely re-built our well back in 2012. No one answers, the mailbox is full and I can't even leave a message. We make it through the weekend with our emergency water supply. I again call the office on Monday and I am finally able to leave a message. They only have an office number. No number for emergencies.
I started researching other pump and well companies. I begin to read reviews on yelp, google, etc. Our neighbors used Bruce McKay about a year ago and they had a lot of reviews. Wow, people either loved or hated them. In a couple of McKay's bad reviews, Fundin Pump & Well Service was mentioned so I started looking at their reviews. They didn't have as many reviews but every one of their reviews was 5 stars.
I called Fundin (Washoe Valley) and Angel answered the phone and she wasn't sure that they came out to Topaz Ranch Estates in Antelope Valley but she took down what information I had and said that as soon as her husband, Jeff, was off the phone he would call me back. About 5 minutes later (3:00 pm Monday), Jeff is on the phone. Yes, they come to TRE and he had a couple of guys working south of Gardnerville but didn't know if they would be done soon enough to come by and look at our situation. While we were talking, he got a call from his guys and said he would call me back in a little bit. At 3:11 pm, Jeff calls me back to say that his guys are on their way to our house. At 3:35 pm, Dylan and CJ arrive! They determine that according to our MonoDrive controller, we have a pump fault. This could be a wiring issue or pump problem. They will return Tuesday morning to begin pulling the pump.
Tuesday arrives and so do Dylan & CJ. Tuesday morning I also finally receive a return call from Kawchack's and was asked if we had found anyone to help us out. I told him yes.
Dylan & CJ started pulling the pump and found a worn bare wire at 200'. Dylan (field supervisor) gave us 2 options, splice wire or replace all wiring (approx 300'). We go with complete wire replacement which means pulling the pump all the way up. Next decision, replace pump and motor or not? Hubby and I discussed the fact that our pump was 9 yrs old and we had noticed a definite decrease in water pressure lately. With the labor and expense involved we decided to be safe and had Dylan & CJ replace pump, motor and 296' of wiring.
Tuesday 3:30 pm and we have running water!!!!! We can flush toilets, wash our hands and by 4:30 pm, take our first shower in over four days!!!! I was so happy that I didn't even mind (very much) writing out that $4667.39 check. LOL Seriously though, we also now know that our static water level during this drought period is at 170' and pumping down to 182'. Nice to know. :-)
Dylan and CJ kept us informed the entire way and gave us the info that we needed to make intelligent decisions. I just can't say enough good things about Fundin Pump & Well and the wonderful service we received from Angel, Jeff, Dylan and CJ. Fundin is definitely the company to call for fast, reliable and competitively priced service.
