Phone activation and troubleshooting resolved

I used the Gabb customer support today for activating new phones and to troubleshoot some issues I was having. All the support I received was helpful and resolved my issues.
My only complaint would be that I initially tried to get help on a Sunday and was only able to talk to an AI support which couldn’t solve the problem but found out I could chat with a person the next day.

Text Line Helpful

I have had trouble off and on with my kids' Gabb phone but I can text the Gabb line for help and they reply quickly when it's during office hours. It's nice to use the text feature because I can see it typed out exactly what I need to do to fix the issue.

Easy to order but no setup info.

It was very easy to order the phone and the plans were clearly spelled out. However the setup left a lot to be desired. No written quick start documentation with the purchase. Everything is online. There are no clear instructions on how do download new apps as well. Very confusing. How about how to setup voicemail

No follow through

So I left a review a week ago, if you sort by recent reviews you can see it, and Gabb’s response that they’re “sorry to hear about my experience” and are reaching out directly to me to see what solutions they have that could work. Did they reach out to me? Nope.

Great customer service

I’ve had 2 great experiences with Gabb customer support the last couple weeks, and they were both very helpful and resolved my problems, The support team was friendly, and patient, which made me feel valued as a customer.

Quick and easy!

Gabb has always worked great for our needs. We appriciate the ability to have a line of communication with our children without compromising to culture by allowing them access to things that are dangerous to their spiritual well being. Adding a line was very simple and easy to accomplish and having the option from the gabb website to have Amazon ship next day was incredibly helpful as a second line was somewhat of a rushed decision that needed to be made promptly. We had talked on an off about adding a line for tour other kids before and when it came to a point that having that available as soon as possible, it was great that Gabb had such a timely option available!

The company reached out to me and asked if there was any problems that needed to be resolved. There was a problem and they resolved it over a chat very quickly. I'm completely satisfied so far.

4 feels more “safe” than 4 Pro, by far. No ability to lock down time of day kid can access and unreliable location tracking.

We have a 4 Pro for our 14 year old and then our 11 year old has the 4. I definitely feel more comfortable with the Gabb 4 versus the 4 Pro due to the apps that have all of the red flag disclosures that make me feel uncomfortable with downloading them even though they are supposed to be Gabb approved. It’s also disappointing that there does not seem to be any way to schedule time when the child cannot use the phone, such as after 10pm or something to that effect. Our Kindles, Nintendo Switch, Amazon tablets, and even iPad all have this feature. It would be great if the Gabb phones had the ability to control times the child cannot access the phone- and even better if through a clean cut, easy to use app similar to the one Nintendo has for the Switch.

The location tracking is unreliable and I’m having to look into other tracking options as the tracking is quite delayed, often by an hour or more. We switched our 14 year old from an iPhone and this is one of the most frustrating and disappointing features on the Gabb vs. iPhone.

I’m finding the Gabb 4 to be perfect for our 11 year old daughter aside from the inability to lock down access at certain times of the day. I’d give the Gabb 4 four stars. I love that it only has a few apps that can even be downloaded at all and my daughter is completely content with what’s on her phone.

The Gabb 4 Pro has not given me as much peace in that I cannot reliably track my teen who is out and about more often than my younger kids, plus the discomfort I have with downloading apps as they all have these disclosures that make it sound like they’re not actually locked down as they’re supposed to be, which defeats most of the purpose of this phone.

Also, it has not flagged texts that should have been flagged a few times, usually referencing guns or photos of guns (pellet and or BB guns, but still).

After using the 4 Pro for about 5-6 months now and the 4 for two months, I’d purchase the 4 in a heartbeat again, but not so sure about the 4 Pro.

User Friendly Experience

I loved how easy the watch was to set…

I loved how easy the watch was to set up. From opening the box to making the first call I probably spent five minutes. The battery life is also good. I charged it yesterday morning and this morning it still had 50% battery. The calls are clear and the service is good. I will definitely recommend.
