A Rolls that should sell!

I must have a tough one to sell. She is in such good shape (Rolls Royce) that I thought she would have flown out the door. I appreciate your patience and hope she will sell soon for both our sakes.

Would not use again

Would not use again. Car was there over 6 months. Reduced price several times. Car had battery charger built in and they never kept it charged. Finally sold car at reduced price from what they thought it was worth and had to pay for a new battery at time of sale. Have sold two other cars since (not there) with no problems. Very poor operation,

The whole crew at Gateway did a fabulous job selling two vehicles for me, especially Byron and Johnny. It’s a great way to sell a car without having to deal directly with the buyers. They cut me a check a couple days after the accepted offer. I’m definitely using them in the future!

Car was misrepresented

Car was misrepresented. Definitely buyer beware type of seller. Do your research. They won't necessarily flat out lie to you but they aren't going to offer any information that would keep you out of a bad purchase. They want to move cars and don't care if you're purchasing under false pretences. Doesn't mean all their cars are bad just that they are a little shady.

No full disclosure on what the car sold for...

I hate the fact that there is no full disclosure on what your car sold for. You basically have to take their word for it and accept the money they give you, which to me gives a sense they're trying to hide something. It can be a small car world out there and eventually old and new car owners meet in person or on an online car forum and sale price will come up, so why not disclose it at the sale? Other than this concern, I would have given them a 5....

Easy to work with

Easy to work with. I asked for extra photos of the car since I could not see it in person. Sent a bunch of pictures to me. When the car arrived it was exactly how it was represented in the pics. I am an out of state buyer. All paperwork was delivered with the car and the title came by mail. It was easy as buying of off eBay. Very good communication.

I have purchased a '78 super beetle and…

I have purchased a '78 super beetle and was, in fact, quiet pleased with gateway them selves, the salesman was quite helpful and moved everything along quiet well, the problem I have is that I Purchased this vehicle for $xxxxx on the expectation that it was road ready as advertised, I found this to be incorrect as I've already invested an additional $2k in parts alone (doing labor myself) to get it road ready. example: all brakes needed to be rebuilt, fuel gauge was showing 1/4 tank but was inaccurate only had about a gallon of fuel in it and when I filled it up there was a major fuel smell and multiple leaks so I had to rebuild the entire fuel system, this list goes on)
I hadn't intended this to be a project car but it is turning out that way, had I known more about the problems with it I would have offered about 4 or 5k less as I would have known the work involved (although I do take some of the blame as I should have done a more thorough inspection) but the vehicle was advertised in "good working order and road ready" I found this to be untrue as I'm still working on it to get it road worthy and in safe operating condition. I think maybe a more thorough inspection by Gateway as to what the seller/consigner is saying they're is would be more beneficial in the future to anyone wishing to purchase a classic vehicle from Gateway, this will also ensure a more positive reputation also. Overall the salesperson was helpful and was not pushy at all, I just wish the vehicle was as advertised....

Great buying experience

Great buying experience. The guys at Gateway were excellent. They even sent me over contacts for a couple of inspectors to come by and check out the vehicle for me since I could not see it in person.

I purchased a 1967 Rambler in Feb of this year. It was deliver in may. Since then it has been in the shop. After driving it to get an inspection sticker it had a noise in transmission. Found out it had to be replaced. Then it had trouble starting when hot. Presently I am having the gas tank restored because it was full of rust and gunk. Hopefully if I get it to run I can fix the hot start problem. I called Gateway with my problem and got the standard answer. Well you know it is an older vehicle. I done not know how with a little driving you could not know how bad it was. The first time I drove it when I shut it off it would not start. It was not my first purchase. I expect some problems but not for it to be in the shop all summer.
