Very disturbing experience with this ‘company’, they are falsely advertising their services for a start, falsely representing their services and once you engage with them they start ripping you off. I was quoted a call out fee of £95, when the engineer came and I sent him packing after he wanted to charge me nearly £400 to do a small job, he then wanted to charge me another £19 on top of my call out fee because I asked for an invoice?!!!
The engineer sent for stroppy with me when I questioned him and his services, which, had he not been shady, I would t have had to do. He couldn’t answer my questions appropriately and didn’t seem to realise that a woman could actually also know what she was talking about. Also, they use a fake Google review page, which only has 5 star reviews which you can’t actually write a review yourself on, and they have no website and no actual company website and when my partner asked the engineer what exactly it was he intended to do for such a large amount of money he was charging, he couldn’t actually say. Avoid and save yourself time and hassle. These guys should be in investigated.

Absolutely appalling company. Say they are charging a call out fee of £95, them increase it to £115 when you ask for a receipt. They tell you they will try and fix the issue at call out but then want to charge a minimum of £255 once the engineer arrives. The character they sent was also shady as hell, and the difference names used as a ‘company’ was questionable. I finally got this name from the invoice I received. Don’t use. They don’t seem trustworthy at all, business practice very shady. I didn’t trust the engineer they sent, neither did my partner, he lied every two seconds so I eventually sent him away. Don’t use! Waste of time and money

Absolute crooks. Tried to charge me £800 for a £100-200 job. Then had the audacity to say he would do me a favour privately for £400. £82 call out fee even though we explained the problem over the phone.

Don't use this company. £400 to simply receive an invoice and quote (£2400 labour rate to replace 3 radiators (plus materials)). Left the system with a new problem having closed a tap which needs to be left open. Well hidden and no need to be messed with. Very much regret not doing a check of reviews.....don't be mug

Overpriced and a Total rip off… charged me £500 just for a valve replacement. They’ve invoiced me £225 labour charges for 20min work …feel absolutely gutted and ripped off.
Avoid these so called expert engineers

Do not use this company. A disgusting service done by cowboys. Intimidating an elderly woman and bully tactics to make her pay on the spot. Lied about original cost of £95 and then when the so called plumber turned up he sat in his car having a cup of tea whilst charging £200 an hour and then spun out a leak that needed a replacement valve fitting which as I’m a plumber myself of 21 years should have literally taken 10mins at most but took him 2 hours. Walked around premises looking into buildings he shouldnt be looking in and scouted out the property instead of stopping a leak where he was shown where the problem was. Disgusting attitude and rude to a carer who was trying to care for a 97 year old woman with dementia. These people are not professional, they are crooks and that’s putting it lightly.

Absolute rip off service! AVOID! Had a leaking pipe at the back of the house, my sister arranged for them to come out (I would have stopped her if I had been there!). Pipe just needed capping off, it’s a part you can buy from screwfix for about a fiver and takes 15 mins max to sort out. They charged over £400!!!!! On a weekday. They obviously saw a young woman by herself and took advantage. Shameful.

I had a very similar experience with all these other negative reviews after being told it was a £79 callout fee and then told how much it would cost they arrive and start work and refuse to continue unless you agree to T & C's of email they sent. These are £225 plus VAT and hour (minimum charge plus callout plus service charge) plus a £225 for each hour thereof. ( ie 1 hr and 1 minute would cost £450 plus VAT )They put you under pressure to sign while seeing that the clock has already started ticking with the time on the email. After initially telling them to leave I agreed on condition of a maximum of 1 hour so that they completed the work on my immersion heater. I had to pay £467 for a changed immersion heater element which was a 20 minute job! The main boiler problem was unresolved saying they said they could not fix on day and would have to return at another exorbitant rate.
As it turned out the problem was a trip switch preventing full fire up of boiler which I resolved myself and they never even checked that!! Hence had completely mis-diagnosed the problem. In the end they offered a cash deal to save the VAT but I paid by transfer. These people are involved in borderline criminal activity and should be shut down.

Worst experience of my life.
Do not use this company. They didn't fix anything and tried to charge £300 for what they quoted as a £79 call out and diagnosis . The guy wouldn't leave till it was paid. They prey on people like me desperate to get the boiler working. It's minus 2 here and I have no heating or hot water. I felt extremely uncomfortable with the man refusing to leave until I paid.

Told is was a £79 call out charge and then an extra charge for the plumbing (fixing heating) and then charged £290 for an hours work even though he was there for 10 mins and then an admin charge of £36 and VAT... what a rip off. The guy was really rude too!

RIDICULOUSLY OVER-PRICED LIARS

A truly awful experience. Had a burst external pipe due to the heavy frost which resulted in no water to the main house as we had to turn off the mains supply. On the phone we were told it was a £89 call-out fee, and the plumber would give us a price once he’d arrived and seen the job in person. This is a COMPLETE LIE. The plumber arrived and told us he isn’t allowed to start any work until we agree to a £229 per hour fee. The job itself was easy enough, replacing an old elbow joint that had split with a new one. Conveniently the plumber didn’t have one of these commonly used joints with him, so he drove to a local ScrewFix (2 minutes drive from my house) and didn’t return for forty minutes. Of course you are getting charged for this time and the job conveniently then went into a second hour. The plumber himself told me the elbow joint cost £8 and he replaced it within minutes. I was charged £723 including an ‘admin fee’ and VAT.

If they had told us on the phone that it was a £229 per hour fee on top of the call out we’d have put the phone down, but they assured us the plumber himself would decide the price once seeing how much work was involved. A complete lie.

Avoid at all costs.

Be very careful. The call out charge covers no time at all, merely getting to site. Then you will be expected to agree to the best part of £300 for any work at all up to one hour. Yes, that's right, even five minutes work is an additional £300. I sent them away, and found a firm prepared to call and do an hour's work for £165 which is more like it.

Called GBSE to send a plumber same day as no hot water or heating. Was told £69 call out charge and that costs would be agreed when they arrive and diagnose the problem. Was then sent an email whilst plumber was on site advising me it was £189.00 an hour plus VAT and admin fee.
I was charged £360 in total to attach a £2 cap to radiator. Complete daylight robbery and taking advantage of people who are in a desperate situation.
Have no complaints about the plumber who was sent, at the end of the day they are subcontractors and don’t come up with the fee’s themselves

I called an emergency plumber to help me with a leaking heating pump. On arrival I was quoted £79 call out and £250 per hour plus vat and admin fees. In panic for my tenants I agreed. The experience was awful, the plumber didnt want to be there, had very limited parts to help with the job and kept phoning is mate for help. The hole experience left with me full of anxiety and stress and left the tenants with no hot water and heating. Left with a £1300 pound bill for 4 hours work and immediate payment and I still needed to call a plumber on Monday to resolve the issue. I have tried contacting the company to complain and have been ignored. Do not use this company they should be in jail for there rates, I have gone to CAB and trading standards

GBSE is a total rip-off. You can find other better and cheaper companies that will sort out your plumbing issues.

GBSE's hourly rate is about £225 plus a call out fee of £69.

Other companies, which are easy to find on the internet, have hourly rates of around £108 and no call out fee.

Why would anyone hire GBSE? Only because they are desperate.

They are also rude in their email correspondence.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY A TON OF MONEY WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO.

Worst company I’ve used in my life!

Was told on the phone we’d have to pay a £75 call out fee and the plumber would quote to complete the works which is fair enough.

At the point of entry to our property an hourly rate of £245+ VAT started, plus 10% admin fee

Fahad Riaz couldn’t seem to fix a leaky pipe so we told him to leave before they charged another £413 for 1 hours work!!!

I had a leak in my kitchen which required an emergency repair which had caused me to a proper headache, I called these guys and was sent an engineer called Frank and he was fantastic, communication was excellent before his arrival and he quickly fixed the problem replacing the old pipe work and fitting a new stopcock for us, all within a couple of hours of contacting him. I am relatively new to the area and will definitely be using his company for all my future plumbing issue, projects and boiler servicing needs. Thank you, great service a happy customer.

Great and friendly services

The entire renovation of our shower room was completed within the estimated time and within budget. The finish was flawless. I always worry that having workmen in the house will be disruptive and the result won’t meet high expectations, but I can confidently say that Frank’s workmanship was superb. When some issues arose, Frank came very promptly to fix them. I will not hesitate to use Frank and GBSE again for the next project.

Prompt response to an emergency call out. Went the extra mile to repair the boiler and ensure hot water and heating worked same day.
