Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 25 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many reviewers pointed out that customer service representatives were frequently unhelpful, poorly trained, and extremely difficult to contact when needed. Consumers described spending countless hours waiting on hold, facing endless verification hurdles, or dealing with dropped calls during important inquiries. However, some customers also noted ongoing problems with rising costs, unexpected price increases, and unreasonable billing practices. People shared that inaccurate billing errors and reliance on estimated readings frequently led to being overcharged over extended periods. Reviewers additionally felt that corporate communication regarding account changes and service updates was completely absent and deeply frustrating.

Genesis takes 42 minutes to answer the phone!

My bottled gas has been transferred to Genesis from Frank Energy. I waited 42 minutes for them to answer the phone! Really helpful lady when they did answer though but should customers have to wait over 40 minutes for their calls to be answered?

'Happy Power-versary' Joke

I got an email from Genesis Energy saying I had a free 5 hour 'Happy Power-versary' power shout. Followed the link to log in only to be told I am not eligible for this offer. Thanks for wasting 10 minutes of my life...

This plece is way two expensive for…

This place is way two expensive for gas and im guessing power as well. Im now with el-gas where there bottles are a lot cheaper around $20 a bottle cheaper. I also asked them to come pick up one of the empty bottles when they where already in the area so that the bottle would not sit in el-gas year for a month and i would get charged another mouth rental if it was not returned before the new month but they said no they need to pick up both bottles. If they do that and there is any more than 1kg of gas used you will lose all that gas and get no credit and they would just sell it on. What a load of s**t why can you not just pick up one bottle when you are in this area

Absolutely incompetent and negligent…

Absolutely incompetent and negligent fools. They can't even tell the difference bettwen a full gas bottle and an empty one. You order gas, they take away the full bottle, from the wrong location, then deliver another full bottle where it's not needed, leave the empty bottles, empty and then want to charge you 230 dollars for an urgent delivery fee, because they got the delivery wrong again (atleast 4 times)

On my own

Since my son moved out I was keen to keep track of my energy usage as I hoped to see a reduction.
And I did. I used 46% less energy than other homes in my area due to heat pump was out of action. So I had no heating for whole month. Heating and hot water are separate on the graph so I'm keen to know what else comes under heating.
I'm surprised at the graph showed 39% of my bill is heating. How is that possible. It was 39% with my son and we used heatpump. Now I'm on my own I half expected to see heating drop. But it didn't. My bill was greatly reduced but if they are tracking my usage, then the graph needs to reflect what I use and not blend it with everyone else.

Change in bottle rental terms

I have been with Genesis for ages. Without changing their invoices to show there had been a change in billing process they have moved to make you pay now two kinths in advance for a service they have not yet provided. That is gas bottle rental. They were tge first to introduce gas bottle rental charges but yiu used to pay towards the end of the month in which supply was being delivered. They are now charging (by direct debit) for the month ahead for which they gave not yet provided service. That sucks. I’m sure it helps their cash flow but they are loading their business costs onto their customers. Of which I will no longer be. Hope your bonus makes you feel good.

Stay away..Stay far away from Genesis

Daylight Robbery is the only way to describe Genesis energy. Spike in daily usage. Bill $100 more than the month before as we head into summer. Daily usage jumped more than 150% per day. Even my 1 star rating is way too much for Genesis. Stay away...Stay far away..

Wow genesis

Wow genesis. I thought you were the only good power company.
Back when I went through financial hardship I missed payments with you guys.... I rang, I explained, I made extra payments, I made lump sum payments off my own back....and you still went and wrecked my credit rating.
I applied for a measly $1300 today through mtf after saving $3200 towards a motorbike...and your credit reviews killed that for me.
Should tell you to stick the balance of $145 odd dollars up your rear I owe you considering you've fooked my credit rating already.

Don't make any extra effort to pay genesis, don't explain your financial hardship, their acceptance is a fake front and they'll give you a bad credit history anyway.

One upset off x customer.

Any endeavour I have in the future with anyone or anything to do with power companies will not involve genesis.infact I'll go out of my way to deter anyone from joining you.

This company has the worst customer…

This company has the worst customer care I have ever experienced. You can never be sure that'll you'll actually get gas when you order it. I'm still waiting - gas due to be delivered a week after I ordered, but the date keeps changing, so just relying on the 9kg bottle atm. I would not recommend this company at all. I'm changing as soon as I can.

Rung customer service, they stayed if I paid extra they could deliver quicker??? Can you believe that? Come on, what is a reasonable wait time for gas????
