Poor customer service

GeoArm has 5 stars when collecting your money, of course, they just resell Alarm.Com services. That is where the good ratings stop and the 1 star kicks in. Customer service is poor and I have not had any luck canceling my service. I contacted GeoArm customer service via a phone call early in the week asking for a quick change in my service. I was told it would cost $50.00, I said no problem cancel my service. They would not cancel the service on the phone and told me they would email me a cancellation form, I never received the form. So much for no-contract service if they will not cancel the service.

Unethical or scam?

· We Use Geo Arm Alarm Co. in WPB 6 yrs-and boy what a Scam! Not only did they sell us 2 cameras $362.that didn't work as they said(and were no better than the $69. cameras from best Buy Buy)-but refused to return Any of our money after they said in writing they would take it back and after receiving them refused-still charging us for surveillance with no camera! They did however ask us to pay for a shipping label to send them back. They were returned in new condition.
We recently had a broken back window on the car and the Police said we need to buy cameras to watch front and back yard. We immediately went to Best Buy and bought 2 for $69. They were not terrible but saw nothing at night, so we bought motion lights. We called our DIY (Do it yourself) Alarm Co. and told them what we needed and why. When finding they charged 5 times the amount -$350 before taxes and added $5. to our monthly bill we asked," would we be able to see at night since that was our problem." and" why these were better than the kind we could find at the stores". We were told that these were Professional Grade cameras and would do everything we needed. And they would hold the footage for 7 days. They immediately added on the extra$5. and charged the $350+ shipping.
The package arrived and my husband spoke to tech and put them up where they told us. No better picture. I called the tech Sal and explained the circumstance and he said that we should have been told that they we needed outside cameras (and these were not them .and didn't sell them.).and he didn't think they would pick up anything at night.. "Go outside and check this evening". Also Sal told me they were not set up to review footage, nor monitor. I asked what the $5. was for. Sounded like a shrug...So I went outside and Nope-nothing and the picture no better than our $69 cameras (which we brought back to Best buy w/o any issues). So we called and said we want to return. "Shay" told us in WRITING there would be a 25% "RESTOCKING FEE" and we would need to speak with a tech to have that over ridden and get a case #.And they didn't have one available until tues-5 days later on the 14th and we had until the 17th to return the cameras. We live in the next county(Broward).
So we waited and I didn't think it would be a problem since "Sal" told me these were not right for night time and we needed to buy outside cameras-boy was I wrong. He said there was nothing he could do about the 25% restocking fee and I had to speak to Steve. I told him my last conversation Steve told me he DISLIKED New Yorkers-and Sal said "No that's me-I can't stand them" He said it was ok for him to say because he was one and they were the Rudest People.( Don't you like "self loathing people that hate their own"). I am a New Yorker so now I am being ripped off and insulted. Sal said well" Restocking fee is you probably don't have the box..".(I had the box-it was a few days).Steve returned a V.M. with an "attitude" and also told me he agreed with Sal and that it was "people who ruined Florida". (I gather it was me he was referring too) as he talked OVER ME when I explained we had told them exactly what we needed and why initially and this is what they sold us. he called me a liar. He also refused to remove the extra $5. to our monthly bill.
I want to know why I we would buy another camera for 5x the amount that had the same issues as well as pay an extra $5. a month for what? We packed it up carefully in its box , padded it ,sent it first class with tracking) and it got there today-on the 15th(one day)...and we were told NO REFUNDS!!!! (We have Shays letter in writing! Well, it seems one plastic over the camera was torn and the top of the box. They said they would send this back IF WE PAID FOR a RETURN SHIPPING LABEL!! We have Shays letter in writing, dated and the tracking and pictures. What do you think -SCAM or UNPROFESSIONAL, UNETHICAL , RUDE Behavior that should be reported here to you and the DBPR?
