This business refused to pay their invoice as well as publicly slandering and telling lies.
They take no responsibility for their actions for selling damaged goods to their customers.
They are time wasters and very deceiving when it comes to taking accountability.
Avoid at all costs.

The above is a pathetic response by McGimpsey Removals to our posting of poor reviews of their appalling service.
Firstly, we never owed McGimpsey Removals for any invoice as clearly shown below.
One of the final emails from McGimpsey Removals (see below) was before the court case we had instigated against them. In this email, they make us an offer of £195 for the damage they did to our furniture and no compensation for their transport costs which we also had to bear, as well as an unhappy customer and lost sales us for the damaged goods.

Obviously we have received the court order for the case management hearing on 24th April which we are prepared to attend & defend. However, I am reaching out in an attempt to resolve this amongst ourselves so as not to waste valuable business time for us both and also not to waste the Courts time.
The figures involved with this case, are not material for both businesses so I am hoping perhaps the dust and emotions have settled and a constructive conversation can be had.
The repair costs incurred by you were £390.
I believe a 50:50 settlement is fair for both parties on the basis we are agreeing to disagree with the events that unfolded. That being said, we are happy to settle at £195, being half of the £390 repair costs. We would also ask that you remove the Trust Pilot review from our profile.
I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully we can conclude this matter & move on.

Our Trustpilot review is online - conclusion is below. Unfortunately it does not have photographs of the furniture before it was transported and after the extensive damage caused by McGimpsey Removals. However, many photographs of the Antique wardrobe before and after delivery are present on our Google review of McGimpsey Removals, which also has similar reviews concerning goods damaged and lack of acknowledgment for such damage.
Do not sign any documents this firm asks you to on collection, because if they damage your goods – they will have a document showing that the goods were already damaged on collection. This is a totally untrustworthy transport firm and the worst transporters we have used in 45 years of business.
We raised an action against them in the small claims court in Edinburgh Sheriff Court for our losses.
Unfortunately McGimpsey's terms and conditions only allow claims to be made against them in Northern Ireland and so at a hearing on 24th April 2025 Sheriff Gill of the Small Claims Court in Edinburgh could not proceed with the case.
It is interesting that another of their terms and conditions is that their maximum payment for any damage is £40.00!
The repairs and transport of our damaged wardrobe were £1032.00 as well as loss of a £2770 sale to an existing customer who we have now lost and also damage to our reputation.

It has been a great pleasure to deal with Georgian Antiques. We bought 14 dining chairs without ever visiting the store. The chairs were all well received in Denmark in the promised condition. Dealing long distance it is of outmost importance that you can trust your counterpart.
Great place to wander around looking for special items. Sandra and staff very friendly and helpful. Delivery process was very easy. Have recommended Georgian Antiques already and will probably return to another look. Thanks.
Amazing shop - 5 floors of beautiful antiques, this place is the real deal. Superb customer service and communication, from order right through to delivery. No snobbery, very accommodating of our two year old son making his way round the shop with us. Delivery guys were excellent, turned up on time and took care to level the unit out. Easily five stars from start to finish!

I recently bought an Art Nouveau/Arts and Crafts style very large bookcase from Georgian Antiques (don't let the name fool you, they cover all periods!). It arrived this morning and is stunning. The pictures on their website were very representative of the actual bookcase though it is actually is far lovelier than the pictures show. Although I live in the south west and they are in Edinburgh, delivery was timely and carried out by an exceptionally helpful chap. I couldn't be more delighted with the whole purchase.
