Unfortunately a complete waste of time
Unfortunately a complete waste of time. After interviewing a great candidate I immediately expressed interest. I created an account, provided my card, and set a start date. We had a kick off call scheduled to start working with the assistant and my team prepared to onboard them and created a roadmap of tasks for them.
To our disappointment, a Magic team member appeared on the call and informed us that the assistant wouldn't be available to work with us as she had been placed with someone else. It was a complete waste of our time and now after nearly a month we have not heard anything from Magic.

Terrible. Do not Use. Scam.
They were charging us on the wrong currency so our bank was essentially making the service twice as expensive. We then asked them to change the card. After 4 weeks of follow ups, they just kept ignoring our emails. Our CS Reps Bernhardt and Michi just ghosted us.
We then asked to cancel and they still kept charging our card. DO NOT USE, complete scam.

Finally found the right EA service!
I have been needing an EA for years but just couldn't find the right service. Now that I have been a client for 3 months, I can honestly say I can't go back. As an executive leading a global team, my EA is helping me rapidly expand our operations, manage communications/projects across time zones and has been supportive in countless ways personally/professionally. Not sure how Magic trains their EAs but the range of skill and abilities of my EA is impressive.

My VA didn't show up on the first day
My VA didn't show up on the first day. Then on the second day asked for time off the following week. The VA didn't complete the work that whole week, all this while I kept getting billed. Scam honestly.
Just hire with someone else.

Assistant went above and beyond
My Magic assistant is a versatile and helpful extension of my in-house team. I initially hired him to help with some marketing work, but it was quickly clear that he could handle a lot more. He was ambitious and willing to learn. He was always on time for regular meetings and came prepared with notes and a summary of work. I'm excited to hire more assistants after how awesome he was!

Not the best fit for small businesses.
There was a problem finding someone who could help with sales and marketing. I was willing to teach the person for the price. It was just a difficult staffing experience and the person hired wasn't focused on learning. Not sure if Magic is great for small businesses. I could see more value for larger enterprises.

Magic needs work
After my consultation, it was recommended I hire 3 assistants and they would find me matches based on my business needs.
I chose 2 of the 3 they offered and only 1 ended up working out. She was outstanding and I would work with that assistant again but the other 1 I hired quit Magic before we could even work together.
First week, I was charged for 2 full time assistants and the manager they guarantee you get with the assistants didn’t respond back to me in over a week.
I think Magic has potential to be a great resource for business owners but they need to do a lot of work with the staff. Experienced assistants shouldn’t be paid the same as inexperienced assistants and the managers should be available within 24hrs if a problem occurs otherwise don’t offer a manager with the assistants if you really don’t get the service needed.

Not as advertised
The sales was great but as soon as I reached onboarding, it felt like the team was new to the job. They weren't prepared or equipped with any kind of guided tour of next steps. Then I was charged. Next week, the team didnt seem to recall what spoken of in previous call. Big waste of my time.

I’ve tried a few vendors in this industry, and being a former executive headhunter myself, I appreciate the presentation that magic does for each candidate and the screening done before hand. I have already referred them to other clients I know that could benefit from their services

I was poorly looked after.
The assistant needed training and I basically paid for it and then she disappeared. No call or warning. When I questioned this , she claimed she was stuck in a cyclone. Her handler Jessa knew nothing about this. I cancelled my subscription and she offered to refund the money they charged without providing the actual service as the assistant. But they continued to charge my credit card for multiple weeks thereafter. When I questioned Jessa . She claimed that she had reversed the charges which was not true. I asked and actually insisted a manager look into this so Dieago called and said that he would assist. I haven’t seen any proof of that yet and am waiting on my Credit Card company to investigate this fraudulent transaction. I have been overcharged at least $700 USD so far. This is a pathetic way to run a company and I am not done with Magic as of yet.

Great platform to find reliable talents!
I have my own small business (without an office) but was really in need of an assistant to assist me with some tasks. Hiring someone locally is hard and it just costs too much since I can't provide a working space. But my friend suggested Magic to me and I gave it a try. It was an awesome experience, I got taken good care of and my assistant is great!

The folks at Magic are great to collaborate with and make the process of adding Virtual Assistants easy. The prospects they propose are vetted and right on the money to meet your needs. The work ethic of the virtual assistants is wonderful. They can work independently as needed and report back with regular reporting as to their progress.

Supervision
I’ve had two instances where my assistant wasn’t working yet I was being charged for services. I want to trust that my assistant is working without constant supervision.
As of 5/7/2023, I have not received a refund from Magic for February and March of 2023.
