Pocket is fantastic for weekend reading

I love Pocket for saving articles I want to read when I have free time. I've been using for years, since it was called Read it Later, and I've saved and read probably a couple of hundred articles on it since I got my account. I like how well it integrates with my browser (Firefox) and my Kobo for reading on weekends. Makes me happy to cuddle up on a couch on weekends reading my saved articles 🙂

I love to add articles to Pocket but…

I love to add articles to Pocket but now I am having second thoughts about using it. I switched my browser use to Safari in the last couple of days because Firefox has been starting to freeze a lot. When I added the extension to Safari it let me know that Pocket has access to everything. So I guess I will start migrating from Pocket to ??? once I have figured out a way.

I wish I'd never become so dependant on it...

I wish I'd never become so dependant on this app for my bookmarks. It is basically a dashboard of STUFF (yes caps) that demands your attention even though you put it there for safe keeping intending to read it when you have time. But guess what? You can't rename the links, nope so it will just autogenerate the most unhelpful text imaginable and nothing you can do about it - now times that by God knows how many links you added to it. Want to sort batches of links into categories? Nope - just tags. Tags that you'll have no Idea will add to 1000 since similar sounding ones will have typos, capitals or another word entirely but your expected to remember them all. Its just not for me I guess but its just such a stubbornly unproductive design and it hasn't evolved or had any featured added to it for YEARS! Maybe its your cup of tea. But now I have to meticulously extract all my links from it because the export to HTML is useless for importing to another bookmarks app or page.

Great app for deferred reading

Great app for deferred reading. I'm using it a pretty while. The main tip for using it: don't let your saved articles accrue too much. You should clean it on a weekly basis.

Inaccurate information

Cute user interface and catchy.

But there are some major false information/totally subjective point of views/incomplete information/wrong terminologies in their articles.

Another editorial website I will avoid among the vast array of random ones that write so much false information. Think again before believing everything is written in this site.

Specifically, the health and food articles about superfoods rankings and gluten in pasta. Gluten does cause bowl irritation and therefore avoiding does reduce disruption in digestion-has nothing to do with weight loss. Ask a doctor. Also, there are far more superfoods than the 20 you listed. Kimchi is fermented, not pickled. All probiotics are helpful in digestion however, pickled foods are high in acidity and sodium.

I write this in hopes that more research will be done before publishing articles
