Questionable cleanliness/safety of the products and terrible customer service
Easily the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I ordered lubricant for my wedding night and because of the occasion and my general excitement and happiness about the day, paid for the product and proactively left a tip included in the total amount.
When the lube arrived, my wife and I opened it to find the inner plastic lining was not sealed on properly. Because of this, whether the lube in that bottle was sanitary naturally came into question and we pretty easily decided that we wouldn't use it. I've personally never used any skincare products, especially ones meant to be used in such an intimate area, that do not have an intact "tamper-resistant" inner lining. I reached out to the owner via the website about a week later asking for a refund, which I think was more than reasonable given the circumstances. His website has a "Satisfaction Guaranteed" policy for his refunds, where he states in all caps: "IT IS OUR GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL LOVE WHAT YOU BUY OR I’LL MAKE IT RIGHT. IT’S THAT SIMPLE. WHETHER YOU NEED TIPS, A REPLACEMENT, A REFUND, OR AN AMENDMENT – WHATEVER YOU NEED TO BE SATISFIED, LET US KNOW." So honestly I didn't think it'd be an issue. But he refused, saying the inner lining was only to prevent leaks during transit and that it had done its job preventing contact with the outside world (which neither of us can say because bacteria are a little too small to see). He said that because the outside was wrapped in plastic, it was not necessary. I pointed out my wife and I's discomfort using lube when it's container (regardless of which part) was defective but he basically had what I'd describe as a mild tantrum - pointing out that he had responded at 3am for unclear reasons and then started patronizing me about pressure differentials(?) saying that's why the inner lining was needed. At this point, I was done with the unprofessionalism and asked if I could at least have the tip that I sent back, and at this point he stopped replying.
My wife and I are both doctors so we're both very aware how much bacteria and fungi loves closed, moist spaces and did not want to take the risk given there was a clear defect in the packaging, especially on our wedding night. Despite this, he was callous about the situation and was extremely misleading with his return policy.
Honestly, the money I was asking to be refunded was not worth the interaction I had with him. If I could give him 0 stars, I would in a heartbeat. I would recommend to literally anyone against buying his product given the above since 1) his packaging is careless and arguably unsafe and 2) if you have any issues with his products, you're not getting your money back.
