Would recommend highly, very thorough and great teachers

Loved the fact Connor actually called me to follow up on my initial enquiry and took the time to learn about my daughter as a person not just any driving experience to date. She always enjoyed her lessons, found constructive criticism important and appreciated the follow up notes messaged afterwards so she understood everything she was doing right as well as everything she needed to practice. She was confident going into her test as she was so well prepared. Would recommend to everyone.

You will pass with Conner!

I had a fantastic experience learning to drive with Get Your Licence. In the past, I struggled to gain confidence on the road with an instructor who was harsh and intimidating. Conner is the opposite: calm, friendly, and knowledgeable.

Not only did Conner teach me how to pass my test, but he also taught me to be a confident and safe road user.

I couldn’t recommend learning to drive with Get Your Licence enough.

I had a great experience and would…

I had a great experience and would highly recommend. Connor was calm and patient and made me feel at ease. Their explanation of manoeuvres and techniques made it easy to understand and pick up. Never rushed me and felt very supported throughout every lesson.

Quality teaching

Excellent driving instruction provided by Conner. I appreciated how he adapts the learning style to what best suits each student - for example spending more time talking through theory or doing more direct practice. The lessons felt thorough and I especially appreciated how he provided reflection upon mistakes/areas to improve. I was grateful that he maximised use of the lesson time (eg not returning early or wasting a lot of time talking about diary dates etc during the lesson time). I found his communication timely and clear. Unfortunately I was not able to continue lessons through to taking a test, but this was due to a combination of circumstances (and not Conner's direct teaching). Would highly recommend :)

Great instructor

I’ve had three lessons so far, and they’ve been fantastic. Connor is very patient and understanding, which really helps me stay calm and focused. I’m learning a lot and feel more confident each time I drive. Definitely a great experience!

Unreliable and inconsistent

Unfortunately, we’ve had a disappointing experience with Connor as a driving instructor. He has proven to be inconsistent, taking time off without notifying my daughter in advance, which disrupted her learning schedule.

To make matters worse, she had a lesson booked that she couldn’t attend and informed him just outside the 48-hour cancellation window—at 6pm for a lesson scheduled two days later at 1:30pm. Technically, yes, that’s outside the policy by a few hours, but keeping the full £90 under those circumstances seems incredibly unfair, especially when Connor himself failed to communicate his own unavailability at times.

Policies are important, but so is fairness and good communication—neither of which we consistently received. I would not recommend Connor if you're looking for a professional, reliable driving instructor.

Hello, thanks for your review.

I would just like to clarify a few things.

Your daughter made the initial enquiry and as she is an adult, in the eyes of the law, we did not feel the need to send the terms of business to you, as the parent. Not to mention we did not have any contact from you until the final week of us being her driving tuition provider. I feel it is also important to mention that we accepted your daughter from another driving school, as there were apparently issues there as well.

Upon the initial enquiry, I personally made sure that your daughter was fully aware of the terms of business BEFORE PAYING THE DEPOSIT, and us accepting her as a student. (As we do with every student)

I try to book students in for 2-3 weeks worth of lessons in advance. As your daughter cancelled her last pre-booked and lesson within 48 hours, she was liable to pay for that lesson in full. (As discussed on the phone with you) Notice of the cancelation was made by your daughter on the 04/06/2025 at 18:43, and the lesson was booked for the 06/06/2025 at 13:30. As you can see that this does fall WITHIN the 48 hour cancellation notice, highlighted in the terms of business.

As a company, we do try and be fair where possible. If a lesson is cancelled, we try to fill it to prevent the other student having to pay the cancelation fee. However, I was not able to do this in this occasion. 48 hours notice does mean 48 hours notice and not 43 hours.
As the driving school owner, it is my responsibility to ensure that everyone adheres to the terms of business. We have been lenient with previous students in regard to the cancellation notice, but this generally creates a snowball effect of issues further down the line.

Furthermore, I listed all the dates I would be away on her first lesson. Moving forward myself and my instructors will confirm any planned absence via text, to all students, so there’s teachable evidence of any such conversations.

Whilst I was away, I organised for your daughter to have driving lessons from another driving instructor within my company, to minimise any disruptions with her lessons. She did not pay him for this lesson.

Lastly, I personally will not tolerate any form of verbal abuse from yourself like on our last phone call.

I wish your daughter all the best for the future.

Many thanks,
Connor at Get Your Licence.
