GiveCloud does provide an accurate integration with DonorPerfect for memberships and donations if you have set up your GiveCloud website to process those. This is super helpful for our fundraising team.
However, sometimes the software is limiting for site administrators. I wish the website builder allowed for more variation and flexibility, had some "drag and drop" options, and was more user-friendly. It also seems like some of the equipment requirements (especially credit card scanners) are outdated and need an upgrade. The "clunkiness" and problems that come up for us during transactions make us appear unprepared or disorganized to both our in-store and online shoppers. The customer support team is as helpful as they are able and usually respond within 24 hours, but even they have to work within the confines of the software.
Many of the functions that I need to run the Intuit Store online aren't available on GiveCloud. The fact the GiveCloud does not provide inventory management makes it necessary for me to create numerous walk-arounds manually to do my work. When a return is made, I must manually add the item back into inventory.
In order to pay my consignors, I create an excel spreadsheet to track sales.
When an item says it is unavailable to ship, GiveCloud allows it to be shipped for free. So then I must hide it from the site entirely.
GiveCloud allows an international order to process, even though we state it is not an option.
As a result, we experience many customer issues.
The on-site sales team experiences many issues when ringing sales as well.

GiveCloud is an amazing company to work with. Superb response times, easy to record videos to submit for support/suggestions. Just a wonderful group to help grow our donor base. Highly recommend!

Maria is very helpful, always professional. As is true of any of your staff members with whom I've worked, she assisted in figuring out my issue. Her answers were both verbal and visual, i.e., showing me where & how to access the document I was seeking.

There is good flexibility in the configurations and the Givecloud response is always prompt and they follow up every query.

This company has the best customer service of just about any software company I've worked with. The CS staff is very helpful, but the entire team is fabulous (for example the dev team has responded multiple times to questions or request for adjustments in the platform).
We've been using this software for over 7 years and the expansion and growth, based on specific user input, has been phenomenal.

For a long time we were looking for a single system to replace the hodgepodge of POS, e-commerce and donor management software we were using to run our charitable institution, and we thought we had found an affordable answer in the GiveCloud+DonorPerfect combination.
Overall, the combination has indeed enabled us to have a single donor account and product catalog across POS and Web transactions, provide donors access to view their own transaction history, and enable rich reporting out of DonorPerfect.
GiveCloud itself is well designed software with a lot of features and a clean UI. Where it has seriously let us down is the POS solution it provides. Bookstore sales and donations from in-person visitors are critical for the financial health of our charitable institution, and some aspects of using GiveCloud have been extremely frustrating for our volunteers.
1. The POS is designed to work primarily on iPads, and the only credit card reader supported is a flimsy swiper with poor reliability ratings. Cards often have to be swiped multiple times to get a read.
2. There is NO support whatsoever for chip cards, contactless cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay etc. Cards that have magnetic strips can be swiped (provided the swiper works !) but if the donor has a newer card and/or Google Pay etc, you (and the donor) are out of luck.
3. Many of our volunteers prefer to use laptops instead of iPads because of the larger screen and physical keyboard. GiveCloud can supposedly run in a modern web browser but we have run into a number of issues doing this in practice. First of all, there is no credit card reader supported with a laptop (not even a swiper), so you have to enter credit card numbers by hand ! There are also odd bugs such as sales tax showing up as zero intermittently which has become a serious issue for us.
4. Some basic flows - such as adding a new donor from the POS - are not intuitively obvious, requiring special training of volunteers in order to do correctly. There are also bugs such as information about new donors not "sticking" or syncing to DonorPerfect and requiring reentry, which is frustrating for both our volunteers and our returning visitors.
5. Despite multiple reminders over several months, their customer support - while polite and responsive - has been unable to give us an estimate of when any of these issues might be fixed. We have been left to soldier on.
GiveCloud has the potential to be great but they really need to pay attention to basics of fundraising such as supporting credit card and contactless payments reliably. While POS is only a part of the functionality they provide, it is a critical one for us, so I am giving it two stars.
We have been blessed to be able to offer our members and non-members a secure and reliable option to give their donations. It has been very easy for them to set up recurring donations so they don't have to worry if they are reaching their pledge to the church. Special offerings benefit from the extra exposure given and the easy link from our website to the give connection with Give Cloud.
This has been the best program we have used and will keep using Give Cloud.
I was hoping for something that could not happen on a donors account. But as usual I was handled quickly and politely which is why I gave four stars.
I've been finding it tricky to generate the reports that I need for our financial records. I've been trying to figure out a way to export a simple report with just the customer's name, which fund they donated to (or which item they bought), how much it was, and the date - including recurring donations. Since the line item report has changed I've just had a hard time figuring out which report will include all the info I need and require the least editing once exported and opened in Excel. Many of the reports have TONS of extra info that I don't need. My request would be to include more options for reports or to make it easier to choose which info will be in the exported report.
We were thoroughly impressed with Keisha and Kimberly's help. We are eagerly looking forward to take things forward with their support.
We've received stellar support, guidance and communications from Kimberly on our once-a-year sale. We feel very confident it will go off without a hitch and we're very thankful for that!
The reps are very helpful in chat.
Suggestions: It would be great to have automated confirmations available for each variant purchased rather than a whole product. This allows members to get a segmented email vs general public.
We'd also love to have the embeddable form include custom options and more detailed info.
I’m feeling tired of syncing between GC and Donor Perfect. There are many errors :(
I seem to always get a different rep and some are not as patient/attentive as others. There seems to be a lot of key features missing from Givecloud, and I feel like the resolution to a lot of inquiries is "we will add it to the waitlist". Really hoping you guys can create some of the 'waitlist' features. It would make our donors' experience a lot better.
