STAY AWAY….

To cut a very long story short…
Our first flight was delayed by 8 hours because the aircraft went tech, we have paperwork from the airline stating this. Due to this delay we missed our connecting flight which was due to leave at 1420 the same day but we didn’t even land until 1515. We had to rebook the flights at the cost of €1400 for our family of 4, along with having no choice but to book two rooms in a hotel for the night, for both of these expenses we provided receipts of rebooked flights, invoice for the hotel along with proof of payments,
Straight forward claim you’d think, apparently not!!
We have provided our requested documentation a number of times and this company are trying to either delay a payout or not pay at all.
We had policies with Globelink UK for two years prior to this year but due to Brexit now had to use Globelink EU, we have never had to make any claim on our insurance policies, we are not claiming for any other expenses (including our missed day of our holiday) other than the extra costs we had incurred due to this delay. We are making a formal complaint, which surprisingly is being handled by the claims agent that we are dealing with, therefore the outcome of our complaint can only go in Globelink EU,s favour.
So as many reviews on Globelink U.K. states you only know how good a company is when you need to make a claim…. We needed to make that claim and they’re not paying out on a clear policy, use another company is my advice, because heaven forbid this was a medical claim, no one needs this stress if they’re in a hospital bed in an unfamiliar country!!
Also, our two children’s names were missed off the Policy and this wouldn’t have been noticed had our initial flight not been delayed and we looked at the policy for contact details, imagine if the children had needed care and their names weren’t on the policy. Globelink admitted the error and added the children’s names … but I had to insist that a new policy be emailed this wasn’t done automatically even though we were already overseas! Shocking!!
