Paying off loan? Be aware

We paid off the loan ($14,000) at GM financial, received the release of lien by mail and text saying they were working on title then waited for title to come in mail. After 30 days, called GM, said title was mailed to state DMV. Went to local DMV to get copy mailed to us which cost $15. Had to wait another 10 days to receive. Had an out of state buyer we almost lost. Rotten policy, Be aware if doing payoff.

GM exceutives are unresponsive

I live in Israel. I have owned several GM cars for over five decades, both in the U.S. and in Israel. I recently wished to buy a Chevrolet Bolt electric car. I e-mailed GM’s Israeli distributor, who ignored my message. I then contacted GM executives. In response I received a rude telephone call from a middle-level manager at the local importer’s offices telling me to stop bothering GM’s executives. My messages to the top GM executives such as Mary Barra, Rhonda Miska, and Kenneth Morris were answered with automatic form messages telling me to contact their Israeli offices. My messages to GM’s local office have been ignored, however.

If this is the pre-sales level of GM service then the after-sales level must be dismal indeed. Beware of buying any car made by unresponsive car makers.
