Sent an email stating supplies needed to complete the exam. Once met with proctor for exam, was told that only other specific materials were allowed, not the ones they stated in their initial email prior where one can purchase said needed supply. Requested a refund, but was expected to forfeit the session in order to receive said refund. Absolute childs mistake coming from those they pay called "proctors." Truly just an excuse to film someone taking an exam and to infiltrate your computer device. I wouldn't be shocked if their bottom line is made by selling consumer data.

Whenever I clicked the screen share button, it didn't proceed and because of this, I even missed the test. And the proctor were only just saying "change the internet with stable one". My internet was perfectly stable, and the other thing like talking with proctor was all good. This application SUCKS.

I also experienced terrible technical issue on the day of my exam - due to their software requirements. This meant that I took an hour resolving those issues, before I could even start the exam!
Support were incredibly unhelpful, and refused to use the solution that their previous colleague had suggest. Not to mention that they ended the chat after 30 minutes, because they could no longer be bothered to help.

Invasive and more stressful than tests themselves. Anxious test takers and anxious people beware... Get ready to show off your room(s) to some random stranger online, get ready for at least 30 minutes of your proctor telling you to cover random shit up, better hope you have a good Internet connection and better hope you get someone nice or at the very least patient (and someone who has an at least slightly understandable accent, the person I got hardly even spoke English so that was great to have to listen to through an already crappy connection where they kept cutting out). If you have an anxiety disorder, get ready to be sweating bullets during the actual test (and be ready for it to completely affect your performance) because of how damn awful the process is. Not to mention just how damn uncomfortable it is to have some stranger watching you one on one during something as stressful as a final exam.

Time to add another 1 star review to the pile.

Refused to acknowledge problem with test, had multiple proctors change in and out, only text communication, and they ended up deleting my 3DS nand files whilst they were at it.
Malware, spyware - all of the above, stay away!

Waited over an hour for a resolution. Absolutely garbage software and completely clueless techs. I have other things to do and the exam takes 2 hours and I’m supposed to just know that it’ll take more than an hour to set up? Also the invasion of my privacy is insane. Just go get your test proctored in person if you can.

If you're reading this then you probably already know that ProctorU is HORRIBLE. You will find a good technician once you go through four bad ones. Some of them don't even try to help. Some of them send you to another technician and close the chat before you've even successfully been transferred. Then you have to explain your situation from 0 again. They have no ticket system, that keeps information so the technicians can get up to date. You have to manually type to 10 different people until someone finally knows what they are doing. That's another thing, the technology knowledge for most of their workers are BARE MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE. I have technicians closing my MSI Afterburner and Voicemeter Banana thinking they could be cheating software....My advice, would be have lightshot downloaded and take screenshots of everything to prove you have tested your equipment and the issues are not on your end.

Got disconnected from an exam. Tried calling 4 times and two operators hung up on me. Was online taking my exam for 2 hours and only had 12 questions left. Now they're just saying I have to take it all over again. Over 600 one star reviews, how is this company still in business? What a joke.

I wish I could give zero stars. Horrible process. Went through 4!!!!! Techs who remotes into my computer and none of them were able to fix my camera problem. My camera clearly said it was on and none of them were able to get it to turn on.
Called on the phone and the phone tech just said, ehhh let the chat person help you.

Within seconds of my GRE exam starting, I was barred from doing the exam because the exam software flagged the ProctorU software as a cheating software, even though the exam was supposed to be done throught ProctorU. I was never able to querry what happened, and recieven no feedback dispite my numerous compaints to the GRE and Proctor help desks.

This happened in January 2023, but the review wont allow me to input such a far date

My review:
First, lots of technical problems with online proctors incompetence made it extremely difficult and stressful. Browser crashed several times. When I had questions, they remained silent. When the proctor speaks, I don't understand her English.

Second, CA bar exam is the most difficult one in United States. Proctor did not talk to me after logged in 45 minutes. When I was going through the scan process, the proctor remained silent and did not confirm or respond where and what do they want to scan or see. Instead they type things on the window. I found that they are extremely incompetent to give instructions and lacked professional training.

Last, I was interrupted by proctor 5 times in total. They randomly moved my mouse and caused distraction for sure. And the anxiety was real and we should have more gracious time if the proctor interrupts us or makes us wait 45 minutes or few hours before you can start. We were completely ignored by the state bar. I was hungry, tired and mentally broken after each delay and crash.

And on top of everything, their platform was way outdated. The typing window are quite small and I end up losing track of analysis.

disconnects, broken timers, and broken spell check are my top problems with the CA bar.

It was an absolutely terrible experience, I waited 4 h to take the exam then on final exam when the proctor had to enter the password their password didn't work they entered the wrong password ...not to mention they can look into all of your personal files and take pic of all of your space even this is an open book exam. The lack for privacy and security of your personal data is here.I have to schedule 3 time in order to take the exam ...absolutely awful, unprofessional, and disgusting experience ....OMG terrible

Idiotic way of taking an online exam. Before I could start my 1 hour exam it took me 50 minutes (!!!!!) to jump through all kind of hoops for someone in India to prove I am not cheating, at an OPEN BOOK exam for god sake. Not even starting about the fact they wanted me to remove people behind me in the hallway visible through the glass wall from walking there. Absolutely terrible experience. Told my employer I will never cooperate again taking exams from this platform. And yes, I did pass the exam with a 98% score so thats not the reason for my bad review.

Disastrous every time. Absolutely horrible user experience and customer service. Enough to make you second guess even studying which is very sad. The only thing I can say is, the technical issues and terrible customer experience makes the actual exams seem easier in comparison…

Proctor U is an awful way to test. You will have 10+ proctors, all of which take pictures of your personal space, your id. They do not have a manager that "entertains" phone calls...horrible, unprofessional....
