I was trying to do an assignment for a class but the video for the assignment got blocked so the teacher had to give us an alternate assignment.

It sucks, I just want to use Blender or apps like that, and when I go to a cloud blender because I am on these crap Chromebooks, they give us the blender is blocked. I mean, I get the other things on their is not school allowed, but just block the pages that are like TikTok, not actually educational things.

No. Just, no.

When I try doing my stuff, it blocks me, also I am blocked from stuff that everyone else can do because "I'm on too many games", even though EVERYONE ELSE can do it, the blocker doesn't even let me play my Prodigy game (I love Prodigy). DON'T USE IT!!!

This app let parents and teachers look at your screen during class time and this dose not even give us any privacy! If this app was a grade it would be an F-

As a student my self who has been using this app for as long as I can remember, I have one thing to say : this app is horrible. It unblocks completely innocent sites! I can't go on poki games but for some reason my friend Di'on is able to play Eps****n clicker! It makes absolutely NO SENSE. So please, do better! With all due respect, if I could give this app 0 stars, I would.

my teacher kept spamming goguardian and said it was for EDUCATION purposes which was not true at all she just kept spamming it and felt like I was being watched even at home I didn't feel safe with this app at all.

everything is blocked and gogardian staff/ owner can acess your camera and it feels like a prison with this app it should be a 0/5 stars

The teacher tells us to do something quiet if we finish out work AND THEN YT MUSIC GETS BLOCKED SO WTH and that fact that they sell information about us to companies is crazy like what the heck? These are selling this stuff to some of the files online probably.

Goguardian, I wish you were CUT DOWN, and your code splayed across the heavens. You are SPYWARE in disguise, dont spy on kids, go do something good. This must be illegal, its spyware.

Today I was at my school in Spanish class, playing an instrumental song quietly on my Chromebook when my teacher disables my browsing. For the rest of class we did assignments on our Chromebooks and my teacher would not enable my browsing, even to do work. I feel like disabling browsing should still allow things like google classroom or google docs.

I would make this funny as I did with IXL, but for no reason, it will block something. Like I am on scratch-not blocked, I go to a studio-not blocked, I got to a studio I have been to before-Blocked.

my schools district told me I was ''on a blocked website''even though it was I ready 😢😢😭😭😭😭😭🙏.

Horrible from a personal privacy and security point of view. I'm a junior in Highschool currently studying cybersecurity, I am also a member of student council, my school has tried to push goguardian a total of six times. Not only have they failed at that, goguardian itself has essentially crippled my fellow students computers, their browsers randomly freeze from resource usage (some of these people have two tabs open) while mine is currently running a good 74 smoothly, I counted. So not only is this spyware, it actively slows the computer its on more than bitcoin mining software, not going to lie I wouldn't be surprised if it was mining bitcoin in the background for what its worth, I doubt it. I'm not even going to write about the security problems or specific privacy issues here because if I did, I could submit the following essay for my english final and get an A+. Something I will mention is the blocking, aside from the network blocking sites, goguardian has blocked a total of 8 websites that are frequently used by students for research, we have been told to watch ____ video and its been blocked for basically the entire class other than me. WW2? nope cant search that. world news? Nope nothing, frankly you might get flagged there. To those of you who do have goguardian already installed, if you dont know about the command line and how to edit files with it, id suggest finding a workaround like a different browser, virtual machine, or website that isn't blocked. That would be more worth your time rather than waiting the fourty seconds for a website to load.

GoGuardian has been a huge thorn in my side for the longest time.

Once i was on Songsterr trying to learn some TABs for later by finger guitaring (if you play, you know how it is). blocked suddenly, even at home, can't even learn songs anymore ig.

grammarly is also blocked during school hours for some dumb reason. At home, i can log in, but only with a personal email logged in. only then can i bring it to school and use it. very fun stuff.

hell, i can't even sign into this site without a personal email because it gets blocked.

Fun fact!: If you put your school email account on a PERSONAL DEVICE (ie: laptops, phones, tablets, etc...) Gogaurdian WILL STILL BLOCK WEBSITES WHEN YOU'RE USING YOUR SCHOOL EMAIL ACCOUNT ON THAT PERSONAL DEVICE!!!!
God forbid, a child wants to use a personal device to do school work because maybe it's more convenient, they're sick and forgot their school chromebook in their locker, or they just prefer using a personal device because it's THEIRS! I know this from experience because I was attending college with my sister on an e-day and I was doing schoolwork before her first class got started. And I had to search something up, no big deal, right? WRONG!!! Because it was around 9:00 AM, and GoGaurdian's settings (Which change every class period depending on the teacher) had been in 2nd period mode, where searching anything up was BLOCKED ENTIRELEY!!!!!!! And I was just sitting there, confused as to HOW THE HECK GoGaurdian WAS ON MY PERSONAL LAPTOP (That was lovingly named kermit) and I had to switch over to my PERSONAL EMAIL ACC IN ORDER TO DO SCHOOLWORK THAT A SEPERATE TEACHER ASSINGED!!

This piece of hot garbage is seen by most teachers as the perfect way to see what their students are doing on their Chromebooks. It’s not, it’s literally just spyware that cause unnecessary problems. Because most of my teachers hate me, if they see me doing anything that is not what the work is, even if I finished it, they send a screenshot to my parents and that’s how I constantly keep getting into problems. How the actual f#ck is this not illegal.

The teacher said to get on blooket but it was blocked and also my school does this thing called schoology and in it the teacher blocked it when we were supposed to to be on it!
