I ordered three books @3.56 each on a buy two, get one free offer. I only received two books, without any explanation and one of those was a paperback, not hardback as listed. I asked them to send another copy of the missing book (they had two other copies listed) but they refused, denying they had further copies. I asked them why they listed books they didn't actually have, several times, but they ignored the question. They just refunded £2.40, not the £3.56 I paid and have refused to issue a full refund, so I'm now having to take them to court.

Extremely poor service

From the accompanying text and photograph (on Amazon) the item proffered for sale appeared to be a three volume set. In practice it turned out to be only the first volume. Either the listing was an accidental mistake - although a sizeable error given the amount of extra text listing the two volumes which were not for sale - or knowingly misleading and, hence, sharp practice. In either case, be aware that this dealer may not always be trustworthy.

Just received my second order from Goldstone bought via EBay. Tried a couple of weeks ago with 2 books and delighted that one was hardback. Ordered 3 books last week, not specifying hardback but all that arrived today were. Bonus!
Slightly frustrated that their warehouse is close to me but I have to wait for them via Royal Mail.

The wrong movie was in the case, but my money was refunded quickly and without fuss. Customer service is top-notch.

I received a book, it was in what looked like a good condition but inside the pages, one or two had some black marker, making it really hard to read. I contacted them, and without any fuss, (I did send pictures) they refunded the full price! I was very happy as I hadn’t asked for the refund, and was okay with the book. The communication was great, and they really were lovely to,deal with thank you

I was very impressed with Goldstone books.They were helpful and kind.100% recommend this company.The parcels were packaged well.

If I could, I would give them a zero! I purchased a book from Goldstone Books through the AbeBooks website. The book was not what it was listed to be, which the vendor clearly should have known. They say they will refund my purchase price if I return the book within 30 days, likely aware that returning the book would cost me more than twice what I paid. I, as the consumer, am stuck because Goldstone Books did not present the product honestly. I would not purchase anything from them and would also avoid AbeBooks if they continue to work with Goldstone.

They sent me a buckled book, yet refused to pay return postage.
Their customer service was hostile, as warped as the book they sold me.

Bought a penguin book was defective, no gutter, could not be read, I got a refund, having returned the book, but they would not refund my postage, reason given ' listing being correct for this title'. The listing did not mention that the book coud not be read. It is a tiny sum of money but I find them shabby, and misleading, so avoid.

Paid. They confirmed our order, then a few days later issued a refund "accepted order in error". Highly unprofessional.

Absolute crap company. Disgraceful customer service, refuse to issue a refund for a book that did not arrive. Would give zero stars. I believe this website to be a scam. Bought via abebooks so do not use either of these to purchase any items ever.

I had been looking for this out of print edition for ages. It was delivered on time in very good condition, no smell of cigarettes (often an unwanted problem) and a good price including postage.

The book I bought was exactly as described, in excellent condition. It was delivered in good time and I'd use Goldstone again.

I ordered a book by J G Ballard, clearly advertised as 'hardback'. The book that has arrived is a paperback with a different ISBN from the one that was ordered, and in rather bad condition. Not worth the inconvenience of returning it, but I'll not order again from this company. Sloppy.
Update: I received a message from Goldstone Books asking me to contact their customer services. It seems there was a listing error on the site which meant that I got the wrong book. I've been given a refund and told I can keep the poor condition paperback. Swift reply and a generous offer from them. A couple of stars added.

Very nice bookseller! Good packaging and quick delivery.

I do not know how this company gets 5 star ratings, they use whistl who process there books then hand it over to Royal Mail for the delivery. Clearly states on there Amazon market seller page dispatched in 1 working day, why then does it take over 2 working days to dispatch in no way will that book be here in the time stated utter lies

Great service, arrived in the timeline that was advised. Book was in great condition when it arrived. Had a bit of bother with it arriving however it the customer service was prompt and very helpful. Would definitely buy again
