First course experience
Only currently following my first course but i find it very interesting and well explained. Plus having short exercises in the middle of the course related to the theme and the explanation is a really great idea to make it more dynamic.

Decent Quality All Around for Much Too High Price
Overall, Go Magic offers a bunch of great things. The skill tree problems are quite good, I'm excited to start playing in the Go Magic League, and the lectures/lessons are well produced. But the price charged for all these things is just vastly too high. $30 per 3 months for a highly limited selection aimed at beginners? $100 per 3 months if you want access to the best courses!? I will likely not be renewing my subscription after my first 3 months run out

We hear your concerns regarding pricing, and we want to offer a little transparency on that front. High-quality Go courses are incredibly resource-intensive to produce. Go Magic isn't a solo operation; we are a full team of developers, designers, and strong players working full-time to build this platform, and those costs add up quickly (as we all need to eat!).
Regarding the content being limited, we actually cover a wide range of topics that go well beyond beginners, with deep dives designed for single digit kyu players. We also understand that pricing varies globally, which is why we frequently run sales and offer specific support programs for players in low-income countries to keep our content accessible.
We want to make sure you get the most value out of your subscription. Is there anything specific—features or content types—that would make the membership feel more worthwhile to you and perhaps earn those extra stars?

The right place to be for GO lovers is Go Magic
Go Magic is a great place to enjoy and learn the game of GO. Their classes are awesome and the skill tree keeps you on the track everyday and it makes learning so efficent and fun. Very very recommended!!

The online puzzles are glitchy
The online puzzles are glitchy. It will, for example, tell me I am playing black, and then if I undo a move it has me placing white stones. It has hard to just try things then back up a bit and try again.
As a beginner, I wish I could also play the puzzles through a bit more. It will for example tell me toimprove my position and then it tells me I succeeded but I can't really tell why because I don't have the experience to see a few more moves out. I wish it would allow me to play further to explore the implications of what I learned, or show more about why it is better.
The videos are excellent - that was the big attraction.

Regarding the technical issue you mentioned with the online puzzles, we tried to reproduce the problem, but we haven't been able to replicate it on our end yet. We are eager to figure out exactly what happened there. Could you please reach out to our support team so we can investigate? The easiest way to do this is to push the "Any questions?" button located in the lower-right corner of our platform.
As for the learning experience, we are constantly improving the explanations in our Skill Tree. However, whatever we try, we cannot include too many explanations in one place without cluttering the interface. That is why we encourage users to explore the courses on our platform to get deeper answers to their questions and understand the logic behind the moves.
Lastly, was the glitch the main reason for the three-star rating? We would love to know what else we can do to improve your experience and earn a better mark from you in the future.

Great for Go
This website has been great for learning go. I use the courses and the skill tree daily, I’m a beginner, and they’ve improved how I play. And the recommended courses for your level are accurate; I’m challenged by the reviews frequently (which means I just need to study more). There are things I don’t use like the Sudoku mini game and use less like Atari Go but their inclusion doesn’t hurt. But yes, I like this website and can easily recommend Go Magic.

Go Magic has been a fantastic resource! I love advancing through the skill tree, it’s really well structured and makes tracking progress easy.
