The rise and fall and fall of Gom player

I used to like Gom player when it was free. Now you either pay for it or they bury you under ads, pop ups and ad pages. I deleted it and installed an older version but it will not work unless you update it to the latest ad riddled version which does not work unless you agree to let it have all your information, and then Gom continually tries to pummel you into paying for the latest things, which you do not need.
I don't need GREEDY Gom any more. There are many honest players available.
