As complete novices, the world of wine making can be quite daunting. Goodlife Homebrew is our local store, since visiting, my son and I have found the help and advice to be very useful indeed - often leading to some interesting and funny chats with Paul. Everything you need to get started and more can be found here, well worth popping in if you’re able.

Great little shop with everything thing you need an very knowledgeable staff

Called in shop, great service and amazing selection of home brew goodies. Paul is very friendly, and can't see why there's so many negative comments here to be honest. Certainly not my experience anyway.

Will return often, until my wife kills me for having beer everywhere.

Ordered a Stellar 7000 stockpot to go with rest of my Stellar 7000 pans. Got sent a Beka casserole pan!! He ignored my e-mails so I rang him. Very rude man, said had no Stellar in stock, despite it saying so when I did order & today his online site states 11 in stock. He said I had to pay return package & postage & when he received it would thoroughly check was packed well & no damage before could be repaid return cost & pan cost. Don't trust him to do so as he said he'd a customer & slammed phone down on me. I feel now I'm stuck with this pan as don't trust him.

Really poor service. Ordered a kit back in the May, was told 3 weeks later that they 'couldn't find it'. Was then assured that it was ordered and on its way, called two weeks later to be told that it wouldn't arrive until July! Long story short, still took part of my order from them, but took a month and multiple phonecalls to get the portal refund. Then tried to blame me! Really poor service. Never even areal apology.

Ordered some malt extract on 03/04/20 which was due to be delivered on 16/04/20.

Didn’t hear anything so on 05/05/20, I decided to send them a message and ask them to track the goods for me. They replied saying that they would send some out in the post (obviously they forgot about my order).

A couple of days later I receive a parcel from them but they sent the wrong items. Instead of two cans of malt extract, they sent me three tubs of yeast nutrient.

I messaged them right away explaining the issue and asked them politely to send the correct items and their reply was “done”. No apology, no explanation, nothing.

After such a rude reply, I messaged straight back and told them not to send the extract out and just refund my money and send me a return label for the incorrect goods they sent me. I didn’t want a company that is that rude to have my money.

This company really needs to learn a lesson or two. How can a company so rude and incompetent continue to trade?

never had a problem always helpfull been going there for years first class shop. Brilliant selection of homebrew equipment and products

Bad advice given on how much ingredients were needed to make the wine I asked for. Felt the guy just wanted my money and had no passion for wine making!

Completely hopeless. Send you completely the wrong products and omit items

The carrier turned up on time and was pleasant. The brew bucket was a bit squished and bruised by the trip but I should think it's still fit for purpose. Happy with the prices and you had my choice of homebrew in stock.

The company does not how to deal with people. Really need to reevaluate what they are doing

I've only been to the store a couple of times now, but the staff have been very helpful with finding the items I'm after and are also genuine and friendly, each time. The store is well stocked too, and they will do the crushing for you too if there isn't any crushed malt around.

I have emailed this company twice regarding an unacceptable substitute and a faulty wooden spigot. The have not responded to either. I would not therefore recommend them.

Eventually they refunded for the faulty goods supplied but not before I received several abusive and intimidating emails. They did not refund my return postage.
They have now posted a negative review of me on a consumer site and I am taking legal advise.

I came into the shop as I always do. I purchased 2 beer kits, a wine kit and a small barrel. Always happy with the friendly service and help. Tom helped me carry out my beer kits to the car. Have been going to this company since opening and would never buy my beer stuff anywhere else. I have also had online deliveries and have had no problems. thanks guys you are doing a fab job

Although i have made homemade wine before many years ago, everything has progressed apace, for my return venture i have gone into wine from kits.

I found Paul and his staff to be very helpful even when busy, the shop is well stocked, and the web site, lets you Know if things are in store or waiting to be resupplied.

although the kits are good, they don't tell you everything in the instructions supplied, so if things are not quite right who you gonna call, Goodlife Homebrew for good old fashioned service, that's who.

Good communication, fast delivery, appropriately packaged whats not to like!

On every visit I am always intrigued at the increased variety of stock. Best of all is the wealth of knowledge available.

you always get a friendly reception from paul and alison,and nothing is to much trouble.
