When I realized I didn't have the…details of my travel policy
When I realized I didn't have the detailed travel policy information I called the 800 number. I was easily directed to Customer Service for existing policies. The young lady answered immediately and was able to send me a copy of my insurance details via my email address.
My inquiry was solved within minutes. The customer service was great.

I am just getting a claim started and was misdirected on my first call in. Called a second time and Kianna (sp?) , who took the time to listen to what I needed and then took affirmative action to get me the forms to start my claim. She was polite and professional in her demeanor, throughout the call.

Excellent Customer Service
Keyonna was excellent. She was pleasant to speak with. She answered all my questions. One question I asked was rather involved, and she took the time to research it and get me the correct information.

High ratings on Google are a trap—they will use slick word games to deny your claim
Do not be fooled by their high ratings on comparison sites. Buying an Aegis Go Ready Elite policy was a massive mistake. I bought a $6,000 policy and only submitted a claim for a ~$1,000 loss after my international trip was canceled due to a verified airline mechanical breakdown—a textbook covered peril.
Instead of processing a straightforward claim, this company has dragged its feet for months. Their strategy is designed to hit you with administrative roadblocks so you will give up and go away. They delayed responses constantly, repeatedly asking for more details and more proof at least three separate times just to restart their internal clock. To make matters worse, they routinely wait until the absolute maximum legally allowed time to respond (21 days), and they even completely blew past that legal timeline once.
They only began approving portions of my claim after I was forced to file a formal complaint with the State Department of Insurance. Even now, they are trying to use absurd word games and a deliberate misinterpretation of their policy fine print to avoid paying out the final loose ends.
This process started on April 2, 2026, and as of June 24, 2026, it is still dragging on. Their customer service is a nightmare of intentional delays. Save yourself the stress and buy from a reputable insurer. If I could give them 0 stars, I would.

Don't use GoReady Insurance / Aegis General
**A Cautionary Experience with GoReady Insurance (Underwritten by Aegis General Insurance Agency)**
As seasoned world travelers who have visited all seven continents including Antarctica and more than 55 countries over the past three decades, we have relied on travel insurance to protect our journeys. For 30 years, we were loyal customers of GoReady Insurance (operated by Aegis General) consistently purchasing coverage for our international trips and spending tens of thousands of dollars in premiums. Remarkably, during this entire period, we never once needed to file a claim until our most recent trip.
On that journey, we encountered unavoidable disruptions that resulted in the loss of two full days at our destination, along with a pre-paid excursion that could not be redeemed. These issues qualified as a clear trip interruption under the policy terms we had selected and paid for, which explicitly included coverage for such events reimbursing up to 150% of eligible costs in many cases. We promptly submitted a legitimate claim for the documented losses, supported by all required documentation.
Despite the straightforward nature of the claim and our long history as premium-paying customers without prior issues, the claim was denied. We appealed the decision with additional evidence and clarification, yet the denial was upheld without satisfactory explanation or resolution. As a result, we absorbed several thousand dollars in unexpected financial losses—losses that the policy was specifically designed and marketed to cover.
This experience has been profoundly disappointing and raises serious concerns about the reliability of GoReady Insurance and Aegis General After three decades of consistent premium payments with no claims, the company failed to honor its contractual obligations when we needed protection most. Such practices suggest a business model that prioritizes collecting premiums while systematically avoiding payouts on valid claims a pattern that aligns with definitions of deceptive or fraudulent conduct in the insurance industry.
We strongly advise fellow travelers to exercise extreme caution before purchasing any policy from GoReady Insurance or Aegis General. What may appear to be affordable and comprehensive coverage could leave you exposed when disruptions occur. We would not recommend this provider to anyone, including those we know well, and we urge others to seek alternatives from insurers with stronger reputations for honoring claims promptly and fairly.
Our intent is not to discourage travel but to share a hard earned lesson from loyal, long term customers who trusted this company only to be let down at a critical moment. Protect your investments and your peace of mind by choosing a more dependable option.

Unable to file claim because they suspiciously can't find my policy number and aren't open before the time of the event. Scam company, stay far far away.

Didn't resolve claim until I filed a complaint
As others here have experienced, GoReady’s SOP appears to be wearing claimants down with an unnecessarily opaque claims process and indefinitely delaying claims.
The first few weeks after initiating my claim were spent in back-and-forth email exchanges with GoReady Claims, which were signed “Claims Intake Service,” with no indication that GoReady does not in fact process its own claims. More than three weeks after I had initiated the claim and submitted every piece of documentation requested (none of it at once), I received an email from the underwriting firm that is actually responsible for processing claims requesting that I resubmit my documentation.
In the months to come I was repeatedly put-off with promises of action anywhere from 10 business days, to 10-15 business days, to the nonsensical 3 business weeks. Repeated excuses for the delays included that it was an unusually busy travel season; that my claim was being “escalated;” and that a supervisor was reviewing my claim and would be contacting me shortly.
Equally unhelpful was the fact that parent company Aegis took no responsibility for the obvious delay tactics of the agencies responsible for processing claims on the policies it sells and presumably stands behind. After hitting multiple roadblocks with the various offices and team members I kept getting referred to, I called Aegis for assistance and was told they have no say over how, when, or if GoReady or their underwriters process claims.
Not until I mentioned filing a complaint did I finally receive a call from a claims reviewer, after nearly three months of excuses, delays, and unfulfilled promises. Encouragingly, the reviewer had a clear understanding of my documentation, asked clarifying questions, and suggested that my claim was likely be processed in a timely manner.
Disappointingly, after receiving no further information in what could be considered well beyond a timely manner, I made a follow-up call and was told my claim was still under review (an excuse I’d already heard dozens of times) and to try again the next week.
I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau that same day and it was submitted to GoReady the following morning. That afternoon, on a Friday no less, I received an email stating that my claim had been approved and to expect the usual 10-15 business days timeline for the check to be processed and mailed. I held off on identifying the claim as officially resolved through BBB until I received and cleared the check which, in a break with precedent, arrived within the promised 10-15 business day timeline.
Moral of the story? Don’t purchase travel insurance through GoReady unless you have the time and the fortitude to navigate their Sisyphean claims process knowing that filing a BBB complaint may be your only recourse for getting it resolved.

Claim Denied - Go Ready picks an unrelated event to deny the claim.
I purchased travel insurance from Go Ready for a family trip to Israel for December 2023 which I canceled due to the terrorism taking place in Israel. I sent the company a detailed article from the Jerusalem Post detailing the terrorism event in November 2023. This completely fit the policies conditions for a claim yet the company denied the claim due to a simultaneous war going on at the time and disregarded the terrorism event despite it being independent of the war and clearly so documented in the news article. My appeal was denied.

They will not pay for your trip
They refuse to pay for trip interruptions from delays, unless the airplane/train you take is delayed for 3 specific reasons: weather, mechanical breakdown, or labor strikes.
If you are delayed for hours and hours and miss a connection for any other reason, they refuse to pay anything.
It's the cheapest option for a reason. It's useless for most reasons that other insurance will cover.
Then the company has the gall to come on here and fraudulently say they do cover mechanical breakdowns, when our communications proves the exact opposite (Amtrak broke down, leading me to miss connection).

Unreasonable cancelation policy
I bought travel insurance for my son a year in advance, in preparation for his school trip to Washington DC the next year. A couple weeks later, I learned that the trip organizer already included travel insurance. So I contacted customer service and asked to cancel the policy and get a refund. They said it was too late, customers only have 15 days to review and cancel. They refused to cancel and issue a refund, even if it's almost a year in advance :-/
It took several emails (with request to escalate to the managers) until they finally agreed to cancel and refund. That was needless hassle and aggravation.

Redemption , they paid the claim 🙏🏼
Update: I continued to contact them regarding my claim and the ridiculous reason they were not covering it. I let them know I saw their reasoning as bad faith and low and behold they paid my claim. Rightfully so, I am updating my review. I’m also being generous at this point because I am happy they did the right thing even though I had to be persistent to be paid. The fact that they have a conscience goes far. Hope anyone else filing a valid claim is heard.

This is the biggest scam I’ve ever…
This is the biggest scam I’ve ever encountered. I bought this because there was a possibility that I’d have to cancel my concert tickets. Their policy said “100% coverage if you’re unable to attend the event”. When I emailed them saying that I’ll be unable to attend the event, they stated that this wasn’t covered and referred me back to the policy where it literally listed “not being able to attend the event” as a reason. What a scam…never get this insurance. They will take your money and refuse to reimburse you. “Businesses” like this need to be put out of business.
