Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs – filthy and rude

Stayed at The Gower Hotel a few weeks ago and it was awful. We found poo in the toilet when we checked in, there was mould in the bathroom, the room stank like wet dog, the headboard was broken, the bath barely drained when using the shower and the plumbing gave off a strong sulphur smell. The whole place is clearly understaffed as we had someone who I can only assume was a chef turn up to our room to ‘see what the problem was’ who was of literally no use then left. When I raised the issues with the manager at reception the next day, she was rude and accusatory to my face, denying any responsibility and offering no compensation.
Compelled to leave this review as we tried to deal with the hotel directly and have been ignored - probably for the best, judging by the rude and dismissive way they handle public reviews, they clearly don’t care about their customers at all.
Do yourself a favour and stay literally anywhere else.

Fantastic weeks Stay at the Gower

Fantastic weeks Stay at the Gower. Room was lovely, clean and comfortable. Thank you to the Owner and staff who were very helpful. Nothing was too much for them. Perfect location, right by the sea and it's on the main bus route to all surrounding resorts. We will be back.

Food good but customer service poor

Food good but customer service poor, very poor!
Our room had a window with broken hinges which when open fell off in my hand. Despite reporting this it was not fixed for the duration of the stay.

Bar staff unfriendly, do they realise they are in a service industry?

Would not go back unless there is a change of management/staff.

Misleading advertising

Been in this hotel many times as a guest and a visitor to the bar.
This time I visited on Saturday the 23 June 18 , it was empty other than an other couple.I approached the bar and there was a sign in front of the drink tap I wanted saying, double up for £1.50 so I ordered two pints One for me and one for the wife.
On paying I was charged for two pints, I contested this and was told that the double up for £1.50 was for spirits, I was also told that no one else had complained. My reply was there is no one else in here that's why.
I advised the person behind the bar that this was misleading and the sign should be removed from its position, that fell on deaf ears and was left exactly where it was.
I my opinion the person behind the bar was not experienced enough and did not know anything about consumer law . Not the kind of response I would have been happy with If I were the employer..
I wonder why there were only two other people in this bar at this time when other bars and hotels in Saundersfoot were buzzing??
As we left there were no others in the bar??
