Do not use this company

Do not use this company! They took around £2000 off me for my orders on September 23rd. Still no delivery and now they're ignoring me. I'm hoping Paypal can issue a refund. Awful dishonest company.

Scam

SCAMMERS!! Do NOT buy from them!

We had exactly the same experience as one of the below reviews... We ordered through them as they state they have a UK address... THEY DO NOT! They do not actually exist as a UK entity at all, instead they are based out of Hong Kong. They took our money and when our camera failed to arrive, on three different occasions, they stated they would issue a refund, which never materialised. They are appalling and I would implore anyone to avoid having any dealings with them at all :(

Don’t buy from this scammers!!!

Don’t buy from this scammers. I bought a Nikon Z5 set and it never arrived after a month despite emails saying that it has been despatched. I was also given a royalmail tracking number that never changed with updates. I emailed Grandys camera requesting a refund but no response received so I raised a claim with paypal. They never replied to paypal but emailed me saying that they have cancelled the order and processed my refund. Was this a trick for me to cancel my case with paypal?? Good thing I didn’t cancel because after few days, I received a refund receipt from Grandys camera for £0. That’s right. £0. Fortunately, paypal has agreed in my favour and refunded my money back. If I paid by debit card, I don’t think I will ever get my money back. Be careful from this scammers!!!

Avoid this company

Avoid this company. Pretend to be a UK company with a Bristol address. This is fake. Ordered a camera in September, several e mails telling me it was in its way. Never arrived, fortunately PayPal refunded me. Do not order from them.

It never arrived - AVOID

Ordered a camera body at the beginning of October and advised 7-10 working days on the delivery date which came and went. I was then told it will be 17-20 which also passed. Was then given another date for Mid November but that date passed by too.

It would appear the mixed reviews across Trust Pilot, have turned really sour of late, and although there are a few positive ones, they are few and far between. Perhaps fake, or paid for reviews?

By December (15th), the order still hadn't arrived, and now Grandys are failing to respond to any further requests for information.

Being I am now out of pocket to the sum of £1600 and not in receipt of my order, unfortunately like many reviews on Trust Pilot of late, I have now been forced to initiate a section 75 claim.

I understand how this business operates in order to supply heavily discounted goods. However, I would really steer clear of this outfit and pay a little extra.

First time in my life I have had my fingers burnt, as per one of the latest reviews. - CONCENTRATE ON THE BAD REVEIWS, NOT THE ONE OR TWO GOOD ONES, AND TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.

EDIT 8/1/25 - My partner emailed FROM A separate account to enquire whether they had the product I ordered 3 months ago in stock. The reply was yes and ready for shipment within 30 days!!!! - Where is mine then!! More lies - STEER CLEAR - SCAM!!!!!!!!!

I expected to wait a while because of…

I expected to wait a while because of the reviews. It’s been over a month. I ordered on the 27th of September it is now November 5th and still nothing. Customer service has stopped responding after many false promises. If they were transparent about long waiting times I wouldn’t care to wait. But now I’m not sure if I should raise it with PayPal

Avoid this company - it takes your money and does not deliver

Similar to others who have ordered from this company, my experience has exceptionally poor and I would not recommend purchasing from it. If I could award it zero stars here, I would do so.

I ordered an expensive lens in mid-July 2024 and it has still not been delivered late October. Yes, I understand this is a grey import with an extended delivery time (despite the company's statement on ordering of delivery in 8-10 business days). Time and time again, either my request for dispatch info was ignored or when answered, I was provided with a false statement about the expected dispatch date. The responses from this company have been disingenuous at best and outright lies on a number of occasions.

Further (and in common with other buyers), on my stating I was taking up this issue with my finance co, I immediately received a Royal Mail tracking number. Beware, this is nothing but another delay tactic meaning the company can hang on to your money for longer.

As anyone who uses Royal Mail knows, it is possible to pay for a courier service online and get a tracking number BEFORE physically depositing the package with Royal Mail - this is undoubtedly what has been done here. In fact, the tracking number provided to me may well have been provided to others for all it was worth. Despite my asking on a number of occasions for a copy of the company's receipt from Royal Mail on handing over the package, containing my specific address/postcode as recipient, I was ignored. There has been no proof the item has ever been dispatched despite the excuses from the company that it may have been lost and the seemingly consistent (with other buyers) warehouse excuse.

I also happened to make another camera purchase from another similarly low-cost company at the same time where I have had similar problems of non-delivery and poor communication. Some of the emails I received from Grandy's were worded identically to those from the other company and I suspect both companies (or perhaps it is the same outfit under different names) are using software from 'Richpanel' to manage customer queries. The Richpanel website has a description of an AI function as follows - 'Richpanel Sidekick is a breakthrough AI assistant for support teams. It uses GPT-4 to learn from your previous interactions and suggest accurate, trustworthy answers to your support agents.' I can only conclude that Grandy's is using this software to manage the undoubtedly large number of frustrated customers and there is no real customer service going on.

In the end, this company has had my monies for over 3 months and enjoyed value/interest and bolstered its cash flow at my expense.

Needless to say, if you are going to take a chance on an eventual delivery from this company, be sure to use payment by credit card or a service like Paypal where you have redress should you not receive your order as I and others have experienced - although a refund by the company was offered to me at one point (at the same time as yet another promise of delivery by a set date, which I stupidly believed and again proved false), my subsequent request for a refund on two occasions has been completely ignored by the company.

Do not waste your time

Do not waste your time, item ordered on 2nd October, hasn't even been shipped.
I was then told it isn't due to be shipped until 1st November - which doesn't reflect with the website
Raised to paypal to get a refund as I can't trust that the seller will refund my money if I email them as they said it would take them 2-3 business days to review with another 10 business days to refund the money.

It`s a scam! More than 40 days from the purchase and…

More than 40 days from the purchase and still nothing

So I ordered a camera on the 8th of Sept and still got nothing except empty promises from customer support - we will send it next week, sorry, etc. A simple refund is not an option anymore - I will speak with the Trading Standards Bureau about some sort of compensation. Luckily I paid with my credit card but unfortunately, it caused me some interest. At the end PayPal stepped up and I was refunded.

Great price, good delivery, average communication

First time user. Fantastic price. £500 below list and £250 below nearest UK price.
The website said 7 to 10 working days for delivery but it was nearly 4 weeks. Previous reviews implied this was normal. Response to emails was within 24 hours.
My criticism is the lack of updates throughout the process which given the value of the order should be better.

Amazing prices. Optimistic delivery times.

This is the second time I've bought something from Grandy's. Both times the prices were amazingly good, and everything eventually arrived as it should have.

Both times, the delivery estimates were stupidly optimistic. Advertised as 5-7 days, it actually took over 20 working days.

Honestly, for these prices, I'd use 'em again in a heartbeat (and I kind of expected it this time around). I just wish they'd be honest about the delivery dates.

No delivery or refund - until today

I contacted Grandys and asked about real delivery time on an expensive lens. I was told 3 weeks/15 working days. Order placed, confirmed, then nothing for 3 weeks. Web contact made and delivery promised within 5 days. Nothing. Long email relling me they were relocating warehouse to the UK and having trouble validating address with Royal Mail. I said I was going to cancel and suddenly received a Royal Mail tracking notice which remained unchanged for a week. Made contact again with a view to cancelling and was told most definitely delivery today. Nothing! It's been 6 weeks and they are not very forthcoming with a refund. Talking to my credit card company .

A week further on and, despite me emailing them to cancel and their own offer to cancel if no delivery, they have delivered something. Not home yet to know what it is but I assume it is a lens so experience slightly improved
