I have bought dough balls from GBoF and they were awesome. I tried taking advantage of the Father’s Day 15% discount but the website was only giving 10%. I contacted GBoF and they got back to me almost immediately and sorted the problem so I was able to complete the order.

Received our first delivery of Pizza dough balls which arrived very quickly after ordering and were well packaged in an insulated bag and Ice pack.
We ordered 8 original and 4 Gluten free plus 2 bottles of tomato base and 2 pizza peel dust.
They were absolutely delicious! Everyone really enjoyed the pizzas and we will definitely order again and would recommend.

Not happy with product arrived as if it had been activated and refrozen pucks shaped like the bag they where in and full of pin holes on baking no rise or bubble in them flat and inert stayed raw in the middle and over cooked on the outside , the peel dust and prep flour didn’t help overpriced bred flour that burns in the oven floor, stick with semolina, all the marketing tools which are a necessary evil to promise you Italy in a bag of meh dough which is the fortified stuff so less healthy for you, may make it last longer on a shelf but less like the original Neapolitan 00 stuff avoid avoid avoid like the plague because you’ll be left feeling disappointed and their marketing team will leave you gaslit like it’s your lack of pizza making skills that done it. Don’t fall for the like your in Italy hogwash , this is just cheap flour sold at a high price, marketing genius and that’s about the whole of the trick. Save your money and a large hangover the next day.

Everything you need is in the essentials box. As soon as it arrives store the dough balls in your freezer, then every Thursday night take a couple out to defrost in the fridge overnight, then leave to prove 45 mins before on the side before use. It takes 5 mins to make, less than 10 mins to cook in the oven, and you have a quality, tasty, homemade pizza for yourself. Depending on your choice of toppings, costs £3.50 per 12 inch pizza. That beats a take away pizza from our local delivery place for sure. Cost difference £40 for two pizzas there, or £7 for two at home, beautiful tasting ingredients versus processed rubbish. This is our new fakeaway 100%. Even made our own garlic cheese sticks with the dough! If I can make it, anyone can!

We have being making pizzas for over 6 years using an Unni Pro “old school” and tried the sourdough balls for a family party being experienced sourdough bakers and users and also having bakers/friends who teach sourdough baking and had the most disappointing pizzas ever.
When feeding back to James - the headline from the email was:
“You may have found the Original Neapolitan dough worked better for you until you.”
I don’t know the next sentence as it wasn’t coherently there.
Not recommend and found it very non customer facing or emphatic.

Bought 24 dough balls based on the good reviews . I used Ooni and also northern dough with great results and even sometimes make my own dough so know what I’m talking about and exactly how to manage , work and cook pizza dough . The dough arrived and I defrosted it and left to prove in tray . They didn’t increase in size at all . I tried again with some more and nothing . I attempted to still stretch them and cook them and they were horrible ! I contacted the customer service department and their response was “I’m doing it all wrong “ well I’ve made 100s of pizzas successfully so I’d say “ its your dough balls that’s wrong” not me ! I contacted them again and wasn’t offered a replacement or refund . I threw the remaining 18 dough balls away so £50 wasted ! DO NOT BUY THESE DOUGH BALLS - COMPLETLY UNUSABLE AND TASTELESS SND CUSTOMER SERVICE TERRIBLE ! Apparrently they supply all the top Italian restaurants - I doubt that very much !!!

Having ordered from many of the online dough sellers I thought I'd try out Great Balls of Flour as I needed some Gluten free dough for a lunch with friends and didn't have the time to make it. The delivery and update were good which is great. However when the dough arrived I noticed that it had a crust on it, having made dough a lot myself I know this generally forms when the dough is left uncovered for too long. I used the dough which was sub-standard as it is not possible to roll dough evenly with a crust and created some pizzas which were ok but not great.
I highlighted the issue with Great Balls of Flour who responded with advice which I took but this didn't work. I have since contacted them again without response.
It's a shame as I'm sure the product is good and I was unlucky with the batch but I don't think by feedback were dealt with very well and there was no offer of replacement. I now have 8 frozen balls of dough which I may or may not use.
Given the price I would have expected better to be honest as you by ready made dough for the quality otherwise you may as well make it yourself.

So glad I chose to buy my ready made Dough balls from Great Balls of flour. Ordering was simple, delivery was on time and well packed. The handling instructions were accurate.
I ordered 24 original Neapolitan Dough Balls for a garden party and can honestly say that the pizzas were the best everyone had ever had. They cooked perfectly in my Ooni and took around 75 seconds to bake. I saved 2 dough balls for a midweek pizza night but have already ordered another 24 to keep in the freezer as they will be getting used often.

The dough has great reviews on their website put it is poor. Sticky and even with adding extra flour still gets stuck. Expensive waste for us and since making my own have had no issues whatsoever. They don’t seem to publish negative reviews on their website either and on Facebook the owner is rude to people.
In reply to their response I have made Neapolitan dough myself and it isn’t as sticky and doesn’t tear. I used 66% hydration and it’s perfect every time, with a bulk fermentation. I do believe their Neapolitan dough is poor.

Delivery times not accurate, did not arrive when stated and disgusting attitude from James when I question it.
Dough didn't arrive in time for our party.
Told James to cancel the order and now i'm being ignored so will start a charge back though my card company because of his attitude.

James stated the website did show delays but had dates relating to the previous week, after my delay they were edited to be this week which he then insisted they were like that before which they were not. He was quick to reply to all emails up to the point I asked for the order to be cancelled and now he’s been quiet for several days he’s also quick to put the blame on the customer as seems a frequent trend with these reviews.
Also when you use ai to reply to these reviews don’t forget to take the synopsis off the bottom before you post it, you’ve forgotten in a couple of reviews and it looks silly lol 🤦♂️
I hope James gets the overtime in and makes more of a success with this business than his others. But please,,, start with a little customer service, it goes a long way.
Now, about that cancellation and refund….??

Terrible. Delivery schedules are not accurate, and they don't give updates. If you want support you get a useless AI bot. It's pretty insulting and there are other options out there. GBOF will be the first company to go under when the homemade pizza craze dies down.

The website should be updated live, it really isn't that hard to do. If they can't commit to delivery deadlines then under-promise and over-deliver. The excuse of "we had a lot of orders" can only be used so many times.

Don’t expect perfect balls of dough straight away. You have to appreciate the dough will arrive in plastic bags and won’t look appealing. The attempt to keep them cool (let alone frozen) probably won’t work…
However. And, there is a big however. If you watch the videos and see the advice they are fine. Just freeze them and defrost. Use the flour to stop sticking and they are absolutely perfect. Easy to come home. Stick a few out, then rest, work out flat and then voila. People see what arrives and think it’s ’ruined’ - absolutely not. See past it. It’s safe and fine.

Can not leave a review regarding the actual dough, but just make sure u order in plenty of time. The delivery schedule they post is not accurate. If the weather forecast is good expect delays. And apparently, if u were planning to use same day as delivery, you can not.
