Enjoyable experience, expertly led
Very helpful booking staff. Wonderful tour guide. Brilliantly organised tour. I didn’t understand that the luggage could be taken for us to all the hotels all the way through. I really needed that service on our first day changing trains twice and dragging large cases in 29C heat from one train to another didn’t feel very first class, more like Trailfinders. We were all older retired people so first day wasn’t great. I think the luggage service should be part of the first class package. I didn’t get a window seat on Eurostar although asked for it several times. Hotels all good although the one in Zermatt was up an exceptionally steep incline and I struggled getting to and from that one. Also their tea making facility was a lukewarm water dispenser on the ground floor. Restaurant was closed on Sunday and no room service. The actual trains, the views of the Alps and Switzerland were all outstanding. Wonderful holiday!!

An amazing trip, rushed at times but there’s a lot to fit in. Hotels were great, although food not so but would still recommend this trip of a life time
Great holiday
Generally very good experience. You need to be fairly active and mobile to get the best out of this trip - there is a fair amount of walking/carrying luggage involved. Evening meals in the otherwise well-appointed Hotels were poor. Scenically is stunning. Spring or Autumn are probably the best times to reduce crowds and enjoy the views.
Very impressive trip,exellent hotels in perfect locations. Would not hesitate to book another trip. Excellent value for money, with very knowledgeable guide throughout.
It was a very researched and well run holiday which delivered expections and then some. The leader was exceptional and the hotels all at least 4 stars. The last in Strasbourg was five stars. I fully recommend this holiday.
From meeting up at St Pancras International to our return everything was amazing, in particular, our Tour Manager.

The best part was the three days in Zermatt with clear views of the Matterhorn on one day.

Loved the hotels, Bernina and Glacier Express, Eurostar, and Le Gruber Restaurant in Strasbourg. If I had known what I know now about changing trains and long connections, I would have flown into Zurich and joined the tour in St. Moritz. The tour manager was a huge disappointment, almost worthless.
An excellent holiday which exceeded expectations. Ruth the tour guide was superb throughout. Highly recommend this company and this holiday.

Great trip with stunning scenery throughout the Alps. Highlights of course the Bernina Express and Glacier Express. Great tour leader, Urlike.
Definitely one of the best holidays we have ever been on! Organisation was spot on and the scenery was fantastic. Great Rail even organised perfect weather for the week! Hotels, rail journeys, and organisation came together to make this the perfect experience. Particular praise must be given to Aubrey our wonderful courier who went above and beyond to make sure that everything went to plan. Highly recommended for anyone who loves spectacular scenery (and trains!)
Overall a very enjoyable holiday but there were excessive train changes both on the outbound and inbound journeys.
