I didn't think I had any long lost sources of funds but have signed up to see if anything comes back. Initial search shows a company that may have a policy in my name bit not my current address and Gretel provided me with the phone number and my account number.
Fingers crossed when I ring them when they open tomorrow I can update the said company with my details.

Scam! They require extensive personal information, including your address, ID, and photo, but do not allow you to opt out of sharing your data with third parties. After submitting everything, I received zero results.
Avoid at all costs

Genuinely life changing. Found £71k from a 40 year old pension I’d forgotten about. Company paid up in about 3 months. Do it. Nowt to lose. Amazed. V happy.

I signed up with Gretel on advice, the day after I signed the spam emails started coming.
I went from one spam a week to 10 a day, and this has continued Gretel say it is a coincidence but I suspect that my data has been shared, possibly shared again, and that my email address is now being passed around.
I found no benefit in signing with Gretel
Edited following Gretel's response.
Let us get some perspective here, I am no beginner to emails, I have used my email address for over 25 years and I have never had a flow of spam emails as I have had since sharing my address with Gretel and I regret doing so.
I do not believe in coincidences to this degree.
My advice to anyone would be to set up a secondary and disposable email address before proceeding.
I understand that searches by companies for lost assets do so by checking details against databases of UK financial institutions. While these data transfers are heavily regulated under UK GDPR, automated, encrypted matching routines are triggered across multiple platforms when you register.
As I said, I had no benefit from registration and have only seen a flood of spam post registration, I accept the Gretel comment that they do not sell data but that is not the same that there is a link between registration and the flood of spam.

I have been trying for a couple of years now to find my missing pension/s to no avail. Signed up to Gretel a few months ago and have just received information today to say they have matched 2 that I have. Huge relief.

Used to track a lost pension. Was super easy to register, only took 10minutes. In no time at all it found a pension I knew nothing about from years ago which was holding a hefty five figures! Over the moon .

I am managing my late aunt’s estate and her paperwork was not easy to work through. Gretel helped me find accounts I didn’t even know she had as there was no paperwork for them. The beneficiaries were very grateful.
Quick to complete details and updates came through regularly and quickly.

Entered all my details, didn't come up with any payments. Disappointing. The site also advises after you have already signed up, that your information is shared with third parties. Which isn't stipulated at the outset.

this website is simply not good... it you have to tell it all your information... i have been registered to every address but the website can not find a single one.... that is bad.. and when national insurance number is added it does not really find much either.. the fact that they can not find old addresses it is enough for me to not rate this website high. i gonna leave it for a while and see. also if you have more than one email what.. i had two accounts two different emails. but maybe i still need a third one.. if you provide ni no and your last address they should be able to find information... but they dont. so basically is asking you to do the work for them.. adding addresses et...

I would like to commend Tom Simmonds from Gretel who promptly sent me an email in regards to a lost pension I might have, giving me some important information to help in my search which he must have taken time to look into. Very well done to Tom and to Gretel.

I'm sure it's really good for people but I've been on here a while now and working in the private sector for 30 years and can't believe they haven't found a single pension.

I entered my details in may 2022 thinking I might have insurance policies I'd forgotten about, gretel done a search but unfortunately nothing showed up.
Fast forward to a month ago and to my surprise they'd found a match!
Turns out I had a personal pension I didn't even know I had that was worth a lot of money.
Many thanks to all who work for gretel great job

Simple to use - the hardest part for me was remembering all the addresses I have had over the years!
I haven't had any matches yet, but I I have been very diligent in updating my contact details over the years but you never know I may of missed something, and this gives me reassurance it could be found.
I have also put in details of my father who died as his paperwork was shocking.
Thank you so much.

The site is very easy to use and they found a lost pension I was unable to track myself. I can’t believe how quickly they found it too. I have already recommended the site to friends and family.

Thought this is a great idea, help to find lost policies, etc from cooperating partner companies.

Looks like this service isn’t going to work for me after all. Everything I entered was accurate, but it still wouldn’t let me register. looking at the reviews, it seems like it only does a very basic search before passing your details on to partner companies. I’ll look for another way to track down my pension.
