Exceptional Service

After a successful Cataract operation I needed new varifocal spectacles and sunglasses.The optician and staff were exceptional in being highly professional and kind.There was no high pressure salesmanship and Dr Greys Opticians will certainly be our family opticians from now on.One of our sons recommended Dr Greys from an excellent experience when there was a shop in Warwick.Dr Dan Mitchell

What a fantastic experience

I'd been trying (and failing) to find an opticians that offered the level of professionalism and customer care that I'd received over decades from Charnley's in Leamington Spa, after their closure. I'd tried a couple of opticians since they closed but hadn't been happy with either...until I popped into Grey's Opticians in Regent Street, Leamington Spa. I'm so pleased I did!

I popped in for a reccy, and the lovely, friendly and knowledgeable staff offered their time and patience, listening to the problems I'd been encountering and offering advice, with no obligation. I was so impressed, I booked an eye test, and the service and care I received throughout the test and the subsequent help with choosing new frames and lenses, has been the best experience I've had.

Time was taken by the optician to listen to why I felt my eyes had changed and why I felt I needed a new pair of glasses, which was then followed up by the patience, time and knowledgeable guidance I received when looking for a suitable pair of frames. You might think this is simply a question of what I liked, but no, there's more to it than that - and that's where other opticians had failed me. The size and style of frame must first fit the face - I'd had so many pairs of glasses that I'd liked that clearly weren't the right size or fit for my face because I'd ended up going back regularly to get them adjusted. If you find a pair that fits, then they shouldn't require endless adjustment, and that's where Grey's expertise came to help me.

They helped find suitable frames from which I picked the ones I liked (and there were many). They also took time to explain the different makes of lenses and the different levels of lenses available to me, so I could make an informed decision.

The result...well I couldn't be more happy! What a difference! From the moment I put on my new pair of glasses I was amazed at the difference! The prescription, the style of frame, the fit of the frame and the type of lenses have all provided me with the most comfortable pair of glasses I've had in years.

I honestly highly recommend Grey's Optician's in Leamington for the level of expertise and the genuine care I received. This is a long review because finding a good optician has been a long time coming for me and I'm over the moon that I've now found one.

Great service at Greys Opticians

I recently bought my glasses at Greys Opticians in Shipston and I had a great experience.
The staff were friendly and helpful and I am really pleased with my new glasses.

Outstanding Service and Expertise at Greys Opticians – Highly Recommended!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Greys Opticians in Stratford upon Avon, and I can confidently say the service I received was exceptional from start to finish. From the moment I arrived, the staff were friendly, welcoming, and thoroughly professional.

The eye test itself was comprehensive, with the optometrist taking the time to explain each step of the process. They used advanced equipment to assess my vision, and I felt completely at ease throughout the entire examination. It was clear they genuinely cared about finding the best solution for my eye health, and they answered all of my questions in detail, ensuring I fully understood my results.

After my eye test, the team helped me choose the perfect pair of glasses, including varifocal lenses. The selection process was seamless, with plenty of styles to choose from. I appreciated the expert guidance on frame styles that would best suit my face shape and lifestyle, and they made sure the lenses were tailored to my specific vision needs.

The fitting was prompt and precise, with the staff ensuring the glasses were adjusted for maximum comfort. I was also impressed by how quickly the glasses were ready for collection. Since wearing them, I’ve had no issues with my vision or comfort, and the varifocal lenses have made a significant difference in my daily activities.

Overall, I couldn’t be more pleased with the level of care and expertise provided by Greys Opticians. It’s clear they go above and beyond to offer a comprehensive and professional service, and I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of eye care or eyewear.

Polite, Expensive, Incompetent and Disappointing

Whilst the eye examination in the Stratford Upon Avon store was thorough, the after service was simply disastrous. I required and was measured for new varifocal lenses at £460, these were to be fitted into my much loved existing (2 year old) frames. My frames were sent off TWO TIMES & came back incorrect (ie. unable to give clear vision) BOTH TIMES! (I wore the first incorrect lenses for a week to see if my eyes would adapt but ended up having headaches and unable to read) In frustration at being without working glasses for 3 weeks I requested a refund. At this point a staff member actually BROKE my frames in front of me whilst attempting to physically remove the incorrect lenses! Her response? ‘Your story doesn’t get any better does it?’ I was offered a pair of closest fit ‘similar’ frames in compensation, but these were not ones I would have chosen had I been looking. They are now sitting in a draw. I was genuinely upset & shocked at this level of service. I just wanted to get out of the shop as soon as I could. I have subsequently taken my prescription to a high street store where I bought new glasses and lenses which together cost less than that quoted by Grays for just lenses. Incompetent, expensive and disappointing. Should have gone to….well you know where!

We are disappointed to read your review. Here at Greys we pride ourselves on our high levels of professional service and we are sorry that you feel in this instance it has fallen short of the mark.
To clarify some of the issues you raise, the lenses were not “incorrect”. The spectacles were made up correctly to the prescription established and subsequently verified by the Optometrist and measurements taken by a qualified Dispensing Optician recently honoured by the profession for 50 years of service. However prescriptions can be subjective, particularly when it comes to varifocals, which do require adaptation. This is why we offer our patients a non-tolerance guarantee and were happy to give you your money back as you were not completely satisfied.
There is always a risk when replacing lenses in a frame, particularly if previously glazed, but we can only apologise that it was broken. The Practice Manager did offer to source and replace your frame free of charge, but I understand that you wanted to get out of the practice as quickly as possible and preferred to take an alternative Gucci frame from our stock there and then.
Once again we are sorry that you have had a disappointing experience with us. If you wish to discuss further, please contact the practice directly and Dr Grey will be happy to address your concerns.

Excellent Optician.

I attended Greys Opticians in Chipping Campden, today 27th. September 2024 for an eye test which was carried out by Mr. O'Doherty. The service I received could not be bettered and Mr. O'Doherty took a great deal of time in answering all the questions I had. I thoroughly recommend this Practice.
