Avoid!!

Avoid!!! I called yesterday for an emergency locksmith. The locksmith drilled out the lock and then said it needed a new mechanism, the cost of the mechanism alone was £428.00. I questioned the amount and was told it would cost almost as much just to put in a new barrel but the door would not be able to be locked. I was sorting this for the occupant of the property who is a vulnerable young lady with Multiple Sclerosis and she was beside herself that she would not have any security. The final cost of the work was £957.60 and took 40 minutes. The job was agreed as we had no idea of costs and felt intimidated but having done research after the cost of a mechanism is approx £40. The locksmith was pushy and only the dearest option would work..in his opinion. I tried to contact the number that gave him the job, 24’7 Locksmiths but they wouldn’t tails to me and blocked my number. I have emailed the company to ask them to justify this cost. They appear to have at least three different email addresses. Scam company
