Gript Spreads Fake News and disinformation

Gript is a member of the press council and its journalists regularly turn up to interview government ministers.

It is time that this outlet was not regarded as anything but an agency for far-right ideas. An investigation should now take place into who funds it.

This it Trump style disinformation/fascism

Agenda driven

Agenda driven, with far right tendencies and clickbait online. Pandering to their right wing audience. They post their own take on how their citizen journalist does, putting him on a pedestal to suit their rhetoric.
On media fact check sites, they have been pulled up for false content which had to be forcibly removed. One particular falsity was identifying a man of colour and where he lived. They falsely claimed he was the perpetrator of a particular crime reported in mainstream media. That resulted in the man and his family having to move and go under gardaí protection. Some of their audience have been involved in violent rioting, arson looting and worse Many more on their pages laud this behaviour.
Their financial backing is not transparent. Apparently a number of large private donors and pro life extremist religious groups. That in itself appears to he a conflict of interest when it comes to balanced reporting.
They do regular online questionnaires which requires a subscription. Their desired answer to a question, is the first in the list of a dropdown. You have to click in and out to get to other answer options. Yet another tactic to get the results they desire. Eitherway will always be a biased result as it targets far right subscribers.
One could go on and on about the total lack of balance in the shoddy reporting of Gript.

I agree a share of their views.but on…

I agree a share of their views.but on immigration they can be a one trick pony on controlling numbers is not easy the only way this can be done is by working with our closest neighbour the UK. They are right to call out on certain left wing parties especially the hard left and sein fein. On the hate speech I agree with them but not highlighting the social media companies in dealing with this issues. I would prefer them to be more centrist than swinging right all the time

They tell it like it is!

Refreshingly honest. If I look at a msm item about an incident that might anger some people, the msm will polish out the grim hard reality of the incident. Gript simply tells it like it is, warts and all, and let the people decide if it upsets them. News is not proper unbiased news if it withholds or glosses over important information

Biased disinformation, poor journalism

Significant misrepresentation of information which omits a lot of valuable and often key contextual data. All articles read like theyve been researched on facebook/first page of google search with very little critical thinking emplored.

Its another sensationalist tabloid like the sun or the star that knows its target audience and caters directly to them without regard for ethical and just journalism as well as predominantly only focusing on stories that evoke anger and fuel racism.

Its a highly biased outlet which objectively speaking only selectively reports on subsets of topics to further its narrative and enrage its readerbase. It is as bad as the "Main Stream Media" it purpots to be better than.

Gript are held to high legal editorial…

Gript are held to high legal editorial research levels. They research typical discussions the population is having eg immigration policy. Gript and Ditch are our only independent media.
Our other media is supported with grants and Spin positions on retirement within the government.

Biased reporting along a right wing narrative

Biased, narrow-minded reporting. While they did some half decent political commentary. The majority of their reporting follows a right wing narrative. They routinely push out questionnaires that are so unashamedly stacked to guide an answer in the direction of anti-immigrant it's nearly impossible to be objective. They also force users to provide email addresses to a newsletter mailing list in order to submit their votes. An blatant attempt at email farming.

FAR RIGHT DISINFORMATION

This media outlet spreads dangerous misinformation and far-right racist ideologies. It has literally caused far-right activists in Ireland to burn their own town down. It has turned people who started off with little understanding of the world we live in today into weapons for neo-nazi groups and fed them twisted lies to brainwash them into thinking the problems they face are caused by people of other races/religions etc.

The news site does report items that…

The news site does report items that are not in the msm but it does not know what it is trying to be as a news site. John tends to be a liberal while everyone else seems to report on conservative issues. There is a very small community in the comments section who appear to be liberals who fire abuse at others for stating facts that are not agreed with and gript does not monitor this abuse at all and allows it to go free. There seems to be the same people commenting all the time which leads me to believe there are anterior motives to direct narrative. Coupled with the stories which can be good, they tend to have a narrative which is more of the liberal than conservative too. While the stories are different in a lot of ways, you tend to leave the site with a bad taste in you're mouth. An example of this is when you read a story about protests which can be interesting, you are then confronted with another story about the good virtues of Bertie Ahern. It is bizarre tbh and the commentators are vile. There is a definite clique there and it's very toxic. I certainly would not pay for the content. You are definitely at a loss on alot of articles because they can tell a story without saying who is responsible and where it originates like they are avoiding dealing with it or they simply have not done research.
