Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 280 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers frequently encountered issues with their orders, such as receiving incorrect substitutions or having items unavailable, leading to incomplete deliveries. People also expressed dissatisfaction with product quality, noting short use-by dates on fresh items and changes to recipes. Furthermore, customer service was often described as unhelpful and difficult to engage with, particularly when trying to resolve problems or obtain refunds. However, some customers also noted positive experiences with delivery staff. Several reviewers mentioned drivers being pleasant, polite, and helpful, even going out of their way to assist or being apologetic when issues arose. These positive interactions often contributed to a good delivery experience for those customers.

Delivery drivers are always on point…

Delivery drivers are always on point and excellent. But it’s such a shame that everything is getting substituted these days. 42 items and only ten are what I actually asked for. If you’re running low on this stock then don’t advertise it. I would click don’t substitute. But then I’d only be left with ten out of 42 items.

Half of my order was missing.

Half if my order was missing.. driver said hes not sure how this has happened and said only thing he can do is give me a refund for missing items....which ill have to wait for 3-5 working days to appear back into my account....I literally started to cry as I have two kids to feed one who is autistic and only eats certain food and I had no more money left in my account ...so I was left in a mess .....how is it fair ...why could they just not get someone to bring out the missing items which I desperately needed......I had no apology and also they didn't refund me my asda rewards I had used on my order too which was a complete waste of time......atleast show some compassion in issuing out a voucher to apologise .....I felt so embarrassed that the driver had to see me breakdown......not his fault ...just a really bad time and bad experience.

EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE!!

EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE!!
I have just received my first Asda online grocery delivery. I am absolutely blown away by the standard of service. It is EXCEPTIONAL!! David the delivery man delivered to my door with a smile and helped to unload with care and professionalism. He is a credit to Asda. I have used other supermarket grocery delivery services in the past, but I will never go back to these. I will stay with Asda. One of the items was not available, I was informed in good time, and was able to have the product replaced with a superior item! I couldn't be more happy with the service received today. Thanks for making my day David!!

TOTAL SCAM: ASDA STEALING FROM CUSTOMERS?

DO NOT USE ASDA EXPRESS DELIVERY. I paid over £8 for express shipping only to have HALF my order missing—over £50 worth of goods gone, yet I was charged in full.
The "Customer Service" Joke:
Refund Denied: My initial request was instantly rejected.
Illegal Excuses: A rep actually told me they "aren't liable" because it’s a third-party courier. NONSENSE. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, my contract is with ASDA. You are legally responsible for the delivery!
Fake Promises: When I pushed back, the story changed to "wait 24 hours" and I was given a fake reference number just to get me off the phone.
The Reality:
It turns out I’m not alone. There are hundreds of people being scammed the exact same way. ASDA is taking money for goods they never deliver and then hiding behind third-party excuses.
ASDA, GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. This is daylight robbery. If this isn't resolved immediately, I’ll be taking this to Section 75/Chargeback and formal reporting.
Avoid at all costs!

ASDA VERY HELPFUL

I phoned Asda about a grocery stock query, the man I spoke to was very helpful and redirected my call to my local Asda store where I spoke to a girl who was also very helpful, I asked about the specific item I was calling about and she went to the shelf where the item usually is to check if any were available and checked stock in the back of the store as well, I was surprised by how keen they were to help compared to recent experiences I've had with a certain other supermarket and I will definitely continue shopping there. Their prices are better as well on the things I buy, sometimes by quite a large margin.

The Barbecue Chicken bowls used to be good, Not anymore.

The Barbecue chicken bowls used to be lovely with the sweet and smoky barbecue sauce, but they have changed the recipe and the new barbecue sause is absolutely disgusting, all the other salad bowls have wet stodgy pasta in now, and the noodles have just been changed in another chicken salad bowl and the noodles are now horrible. Nobody wants poor quality food, PLEASE go back to the old recipes.

I used Asdas delivery service for a few…

I used Asdas delivery service for a few years. I stopped using them after a neighbour ordered shopping through them and on asking the guy to move his van from over my driveway, he proceeded to get verbally aggressive. Now i don't know about you but when you are inconsiderately parked, you shut your mouth and move. Now let’s just be fair here, this is not the first time in fact this is a weekly occurrence at different times of the day stopping me getting on and off my property. They take phone breaks, smoke breaks and whatever other breaks they fancy while blocking access to my property. Frankly I have had enough of telling Asda about this. So, heres your review. The date of experience is not accurate as it is frequent.

I will never use Asda again.

I will never use Asda again.
Not to be trusted, I ordered a shop earlier in the week which came minus alot of what I ordered for substitutes.
They have tried to take £225 from my bank account this morning!
I paid earlier in the week, this is a completely different amount and I've ordered nothing!
Customer service woman absolutely clueless so I've stopped the pending amount with my bank and cancelled my bank card.
I had this a few years back and stopped using them.
Definitely won't be ordering with them again.

This was the first time we used Asda…

This was the first time we used Asda home delivery (Carlisle), we have always used Tesco.

Ordering was easy, products were easy to find, booking a delivery date was a doddle.

Had no issues with substitutes, clicked for no substitutes and didn't get any.

The shopping was so much cheaper than Tesco and we got a lot more, we buy a lot of Tesco Finest, we bought a few Asda Exceptional.

Delivery was within the two hour slot, the driver was lovely, she couldn't have been more helpful

Asda have definitely fallen in product…

Asda have definitely fallen in product quality. I find a lot of their food tastes absolutely horrid. Purchases some taramasalata yesterday and the taste blew me away! It was absolutely disgusting.. sour lemon mayonnaise and I doubt there is any actual cod roe in it. I went online to check the ingredients and what it says on the packaging and what I read were not the same at all.. it says fish roe online but cod roe on the packaging. I then left a review of how vile it tasted. It went live and then they hid the review through their AI tool they use. Outrageous...asda has gone so far downhill since the take over and that's a shame as I wont be shopping there anymore!

Disappointed

Every single time, late delivery, Missing Items, refused refund on line, then you have to spend time calling them. Plus on the other hand you still don’t have what you need it and have to go to the shop yourself 😡.

Shameful excuses and bad service

Once again computer issues, it really is disgraceful when customers are paying for delivery passes and find once again cannot check out, items you add do not appear. Every time I use Asda online I have to clear all my data I have changed my browser, contacted customer service who were not helpful, also contacted my local branch I order from the man I spoke to for advice how to checkout my groceries after numerous attempts was patronising proming to ring back with some help but of course never did. I think customer loyalty is stretched beyond belief now I know I am certainly going to shop with Tesco it's reliable and how many times can you keep checking to see if Asda has technical issues, they do not respect or care about their customers. We should be allowed to cancel our delivery pass with a refund for days that the computer is yet again not working.

PLEASE DO NOT USE

Order arrived on time but was only ambient items. Driver explained big mix up with several orders and that chilled and frozen items would be delivered next day. When I called customer services to check delivery times I was told driver had cancelled missing items, and therefore once refunded the items could not be delivered. I am totally non weight bearing following an op , hence the online order! I was left with bread but no spread or filling for sandwich and no food items . The dog food arrived , so he'll be fine!
To add insult to injury , the online shopping duty manager promised to call me back and hasn't. The order was £123 and they refunded £60!
PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT USE ASDA IF YOU ARE VULNERABLE, UNABLE TO GET OUT OR RELY ON THE DELIVERY ETC!! I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN.
