Guardhog is able to amend its mistakes
In April-May, I had bad experience with Guardhog. They messed up during the process of selling me their policy, by making a number of confusing statements and failing to clarify the terms of the different types of policies they offer, leading me to believe I was insured against certain risks in my short let when in fact I was not. When an incident occurred and I inquired about a potential claim, they came back with a series of messages that were utterly confusing and inconsistent. Turned out I had no valid claim at all because I had no policy for when I had guests in the flat - which is exactly what I thought I had purchased.
However, as soon as I voiced my grievances through this site, I was contacted by a member of the upper management of the company, Mr Boldt, who had the amazing patience to go with me through the entire very long communications trail in huge detail. We spoke on the phone for at least half an hour. It was clear that he had familiarised himself with the record of communications between me and several different Guardhog employees. It was also clear that he cared about my case, and was determined to understand exactly what had gone wrong. He was also thinking of how the process as well as documents wording could be amended to prevent similar misunderstanding from happening again. I was impressed. After all, we customers are frequently on the receiving side of companies's errors or even incompetence. But one rarely gets anything more than a flat apology. Guardhog has the ability to put things right and to learn from its experience. In this respect, Guardhog is a worthy business. I am staying with them and would recommend.

Versatile and efficient

Excellent - I would recommend Guardhog. Don't bother with the comparison websites - so easy to talk through everything with a member of staff who really understood my requirements. Seemed to have all the options covered, even if my needs change in the future.
