Walking out on your child’s life…

Walking out on your child’s life doesn’t even deserve a 1 star rating but it’s the lowest I can give. I suggest you reply to your emails. It’s alright for some swanning off to the other side of the world isn’t it to live a new perfect life. Well what about me that you left behind. I have questions that only you can answer so I’d kindly appreciate if you could email me back to answer those questions.

Logic board faulty

Guardian door installed 2021 but the logic board failed in 2024. Technician advised that they no longer use these logic boards because they have too many faults so I would have to install a new $700 version. The warranty had run out a couple of months previous. This might be covered by the ACCC consumer guarantee but it would be better if Guardian did not sell dodgy logic boards that should last longer than 3 years.

Thank you for your review, Whilst we appreciate it can be frustrating when there is an issue with a product you have purchased from anywhere, we have terms and conditions that are very clear to all clients, and the warranty hadn't expired months prior or we would have waivered this, the warranty would have been void following no service completed the 12 months following the installation, as such, 3 years surpasses and we are left with very little options to cover a warranty on a product where there is no warranty in place any longer. We have replied and advised you should indeed contact the ACCC and the ombudsman as is every Australian's right to do so and we will happily adhere to their instructions, however posting negative reviews when demands are not met and processes haven't had the opportunity to be followed can be hard for small business as we are almost held at ransom over this, especially when they are not entirely truthful (a few months out of warranty would have been honored as stated above) can be harmful to a small business when they are not accurate. Guardian sends automatic reminders to phone numbers and emails as standard practice, this is a goodwill gesture to enable people to have the opportunity to schedule the service and ensure the warranty remains in place, however, this is the client's responsibility, not the business's. Maintaining a proper warranty has and will always remain the responsibility of the client, and Guardian Doors are as always, open to assist where we can, when we can - we have tried to lodge the warranty with the manufacturer however the fact that no service was completed following an installation 3 years ago, stops us in our tracks and places it out of our hands I'm afraid.

Wouldn't touch them

Wouldn't touch them. Poor service, no return calls. Product broken within 2 years. No call out reminder. Rude receptionist. Much better companies and products on the market. Buyer beware.

Supposed 5 year warrantee

Had motor replaced by Guardian installer June 2017. He was extremely competent & showed my husband how to check balance & explained to him that it must be done it every 3 months. November 2018 - paid for yearly service, done by an inexperienced youth who only checked & lubricated the doors, nothing else but wrote that the motor and mounts were "worn but serviceable" (strange comment since he never looked at the motor). June 2020, garage door would not open my any remotes, called Guardian doors & explained the problem, also that the motor had a 5 year warrantee. Today the sent a very smart, knowledgeable young man out to look at it - everything in good condition regarding motor, doors etc but the control board wasn't working. He contacted head office and was told that they would not cover the warrantee because we had not had the service done last year - we would either have to pay $255.60 for a new control board or he was to put it back & we'd be charged the $148 call out fee. As my husband & I are on the aged pension, we do not have the money to waste on a yearly service where all that is done is lubricate the various parts especially when my husband who worked in the engine room of ships for many years can do this service himself. Any other electrical appliance would be fixed under the warrantee stated at the time of purchase.

Yes, I'm sure a service 'should be' more than just lubricating parts however that was not the case in 2018. Your office was notified and you apologized saying that you would send out another serviceman on a particular day. That day came & went with the service person being a no-show & we had no phone call to say why, so we gave it up as a bad job.

Good Morning, thank you for leaving such clear feedback, we would urge you to contact our office ( as names on here are not a direct link to our customer base. Your warranty is indeed 5 years, 2 years on the logic board, so any issues to do with that are and should be completely covered. The grey area is that the warranty is valid with annual servicing as per manufacturers guidelines and Guardian Doors quotations/T's &c's ( this is more for the spring tension ) to ensure the operator supplied isn't put under undue strain ( and therefore wearing it down prematurely ) With the number of power outages we suffer in Perth the logic bard can fail due to this, and as the door has operated without logic bard issues since 2017, we would have to take this into account, as logic board failure as a direct issue would usually show prior to this time frame. that being said, I would have liked the opportunity to explain Guardians stance and discuss a resolution with you, as apart from our product warranty, workmanship warranty, we also have a customer satisfaction guarantee - our end aim is to ensure that all our customers are happy/satisfied that Guardian has provided what they expect. I would also like to discuss your prior service as a Guardian Garage Doors service is not just lubricating parts, there are the whole heap of adjustments that are required, and if you felt that wasn't done properly, we would have liked to attend and assess the workmanship. If you would like to discuss the issue further, and allow us to work towards a resolution, please email your details through and you will receive a follow up straight away, We take our customer satisfaction very seriously and will always endeavour to find the absolute best solution moving forward. My apologies if this wasn't dealt with clearly at the time, once I have your details I can chase this up and work towards avoiding a situation whereby we leave a customer unhappy. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Paul, I'm really sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with the service Guardian Doors provided. If you have the time, I would really appreciate it if you could get in touch with us so we can identify the works completed on-site, and the time spent on site. We would always rather hear of any issues as they arise so we can rectify them and improve our service rather than have a dissatisfied customer. That's not what Guardian Doors is about, we pride ourselves on customer satisfaction. Whilst we have your details on file, in respect to your privacy, we would ask you email or call us so we can discuss the issue. Thank you Paul, all feedback is appreciated and goes towards us improving our service. Amber, Guardian Doors.

For a general/annual service. Not a good experience.

For a general/annual service.

Was advise that the Technician will be arriving around 11-1, however after being in contact I was advise they are running late and will be arriving at 3pm but lastly they arrived after 5pm.

Did the job as if they were rushing to finish off work as its getting late. All in all $160 for less than 15 min of their time. Would have expected more effort being given.

Scope says lubricate all moving parts but technician advise they do not lubricate plastic hinges.

Just for your information, my door was knocked by a car before and had a slight bent one of the panel. A screw was also broken. But no mention of it when they were doing up a report. Seem like they didn’t check the overall structure or condition of the door.

Other than that they have also left the place dirty with hand prints on my ceiling

I’ve had others doing a service before and they actually spent time cleaning and lubricating each and every moving part.

Honestly not a good experience.

Hi Dan, We are very sorry to hear the service you received was substandard. As names on this site are not available, we cant reach out to you directly. I would urge you to please contact our office so we can resolve the issue, re-attend site and inspect the workmanship. You have paid for a thorough service, each and every part of your door should be checked, assessed and adjusted where required, I am truly sorry if this hasn't been the case. Guardian Doors prides ourselves on absolute 100% customer satisfaction and your service has obviously missed the mark. We would like to rectify the situation and inspect what was completed on your service as our standards are of the highest in the industry, something on this occasion you have not received, and to be honest, just isn't good enough. We would love the opportunity to look into this further if you can get in touch, at your convenience. Thank you, Adam Wales, Director, Guardian Doors.
