I purchased a 8 piece Leather Sectional…

I purchased a 8 piece Leather Sectional with 4 motion recliners in May 31, 2022 spending close to $5000, I was convinced by the sales Rep to purchase the Guardian Protection Plan that would not expire until May 31,2027 and it would cover me for any accidents and any Mechanical issues that should go wrong for 5 years.
On Jan 2, 2024 I submit a Claim informing Guardian that I reclined one of the seats to watch TV and it would not come back up they told me to send a picture and my receipt of my purchase and the warranty docs.. I sent the information requested on Jan 6 and now I get a email Jan 11 stating "The damages reported is not eligible for coverage under your protection plan. The plan you purchase from the retailor does not cover your furniture for: A variety of stains and damages." I don't have stains or damages to my couches its only the mechanical issues they never even came out to see if they could fix the issue. ...so I called the store to talk the Manager he was not trying to hear what I was trying to explain to him he just kept telling me to file an appeal because my couches were covered for mechanical/motion failure and for any accidents. They don't tell you how difficult it is to have your merchandise covered under warranty when something goes wrong they just want you to pay $400 for a warranty. I feel the information you are being provided to pay the warranty is false statements by the Reps their just trying to get you to purchase the warranty this is so disappointing to spend so much money on furniture and warranty and to have a company not stand up for you. I have been trying to call the warranty to file an appeal I have been on hold for two hours I just finally hung up, its a shame that I have to look at a practically brand new furniture that I cant get the recliner to go down without perhaps breaking it to get it to go down, or just taking it out and wasting my money. I have made many purchases with BOB's and this is very disappointing to me. Guardian Protection does not stand by their contract they have with the customers.

Sincerely,
Very Disappointed Customer

Scam

No compren seguros con ellos. Todo lo resuelven con uso normal para no arreglarte los muebles. Pèsimo servicio. Do not waste your money.

total waste of money, not worthy, total scam

I have a costly recliner and the USB ports went off. Tried to claim to repair it multiple times, but it gets rejected every time.
No option/category to clearly define the issue in the first place. No call or discussion or any effort to understand the issue from their side.
what a waste of time and money. its a total scam.

Total scam of a company

Total scam of a company. Shame on Rooms To Go for ever associating with them. Bought a couch and this policy as it was advertised to us as "everything coverage" when in actually covers nothing. The couch is ripping apart but because it has occurred at the seam they say it is not covered calling it "seam separation, seam slippage, loosening of threads, or fraying." It is extra sketchy because my policy says it covers "rips" plain and simple it covers "rips" but now they are trying to say it is only "accidental rips" what does that even mean? I didn't go stabbing my couch so clearly it was an "accident," but when looking at these other reviews it seems there is no point in fighting it because I expect their next response will be it is still not covered because it is "normal wear and tear." We have no children, we do not wear shoes in the house, there is nothing occurring that would cause "normal wear and tear" on this couch that is only a couple of years old. It is poor craftsmanship and even poorer customer service by this company. We were told that Rooms To Go has dumped Guardian as their partner, and I expect it is because of the countless complaints they have received. Terrible company, I would give 0 stars if I could.

Do not pay for protection plan thru…

Do not pay for protection plan thru guardian , it is a scam, bought a sectional and was offered this protection plan that are lies, and when I spoke with them I asked about pet stains over and over and reassured me that pet stain among any stains would be covered and we purchased it and when we trued to use it we were denied because they told us that pet stains were not covered. I sent them a picture of their information they sent us and it shows multiple damages supposedly covered. So do not waste your money on these scum bags and shame on Rooms To Go for even useing them and pushing them on customers. I will not go back to rooms to go nor will I ever purchase coverage in furniture again

Terrible Experience

The worst pieces of furniture I’ve ever had and the worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with! DO NOT BUY FROM 1STOPBEDROOMS! You buy the warranty, the warranty company doesn’t help you and neither does 1STOPBEDROOMS. When I said I will never purchase from 1stopbedrooms, I was hung up on by a lady without reason. This was after numerous interactions with 1stopbedrooms and Guardian (warranty company). This is terrible to have companies treat you this way and we’ve only had the furniture 6 months. Don’t buy from 1stopbedrooms to save money from local furniture stores.

A Headache

UPDATE 10/1/23: Here we are Sept 30 and all these issues with the RoomPlace and Guardian (the warranty co.) which turned into a project, is finally completed. It was a complete nightmare with the store and the warranty company. This project started in June 2023 through yesterday Sept 30. Dealing with both these businesses literally turned into a project. A project that consumed an enormous amount of my time, which included a plethora of the following: consistent follow-up, numerous emails, phone calls, detailed note taking, and talking to numerous customer service individuals; with each phone call I noted their name, date, and time. So many times I was being given wrong answers or incomplete answers because no one knew what the other was doing. It was an uncalled-for situation, the waste of a customer's time. In the end, everything worked out, all due to my diligence, persistence, and my follow-up persistence. No way to run a business, from both companies. I made sure I posted all over social medias by reviews.
If there was one bright note from this whole experience, it was when on July 4th I went to the RoomPlace to pick my replacement bed and mattress. This was when I met Malcom Moore, sales associate. He was the light in this whole experience. I think he was in his 70's or early 80's, he told me, but I can't recall. What a wealth of historical knowledge because being from the south, as well as product knowledge. It was such a wonderful experience talking to him and meeting him.
If I can give future customers advice it would be, do your research, ask questions, and question everything, document everything, ask specific questions about the warranty, and ask that any policies or information that is given to you verbally must be sent by email so you can have documentation. Do your research that includes other stores.

June 2023 - So I purchased a bed and mattress in June of 2021. My salesman was Nigel Odom. I bought the warranty as well for both. He never told me of the specifics that these warranties carry.
The bed ended up with a crack on the headboard. Warranty is with Guardian. Turns out in order for the warranty to be valid, the warranty company requires it be an accident and you need to report that accident within 30 days. My claim was denied, I had to fight for this, and the denial was overturned.
The mattress I paid a fortune for, the warranty was for a mattress sagging. This warranty is with The RoomPlace. I found out that in order for a claim to be accepted the mattress has to have sagged 1 1/2 inches. Mine I was told by the investigator who came only sagged 1/2 an inch. When you sit on that mattress it sinks like over three inches, and I bought a firm mattress. The mattress lost its firmness. The investigator told me the claim will be denied. I paid $1,300 for this mattress.

The salesman never explained these specifics with me. In fact, for the mattress, HE SAID the warranty covers once it starts sagging, there was no mention of required inches. I will never buy anything else there.

UPDATE: I received a call from a Stephanie at the RoomPlace. The only solution they offered me for a mattress I paid $1300 for was that they would call me in 90 days to see if the mattress had sagged an additional one inch to meet the 1 1/2-inch requirement. I paid $1300 for a mattress, and this is what I get from this company. This is totally outrageous.

This company is a joke

This company is a joke. Hours long hold times. They made me send pictures and jump through hoops just to start a claim. They sent someone out to repair a broken bed frame without the part. The repair guy just said yep, it's broken and left. After five weeks they finally sent me an email saying I can either replace the whole bed or they will write me a check for $280 and close my claim with no repair made. They said they couldn't get the part. I contacted the store I bought the frame the day it broke and the guy had the part in hand ready to be picked up. I wouldn't buy a warranty for a shoelace from this absolute joke of a company.

SCAM

Guardian will NOT approve your warranty. They will find very small details in the information that you provide in order to deny it. I've been given 3 different reasons on one claim "Even though the rip is covered and it was a specific incident - we don't cover THAT specific incident". This company is a total scam! (Their customer service people are super rude as well.)

Do NOT waste your money

I would give zero stars I could. First of all, you cannot talk with anyone - they want everything online. After submitting pix -- and then submitting more pix -- I get an email today to say it'll be another 10 business days for someone to contact, with the veiled threat "If you call in before the allotted time, it may further delay the processing of your claim." So far, it seems you are on your own if you file a claim.

Never Again Guardian Protection Products

Guradian Protection Products is not a legitimate company. Whenever you attempt to actually file a claim the find some obscure clause in their 'policy' to deny it. I spent over an hour today speaking to person after person who just kept reading from the same script. These policies are sold and the time of purchase as a comfort that you never have to worry about your furniture. Buyer beware.

Scam warranty, need class action

This company has 1 star everywhere including trustpilot, google and consumeraffairs for their warranty scam. Guardian protection products (gppclaims.com also onpointwarranty.com) denied my claim saying that this is not covered. The coverage paper clearly says the damages were covered for 5 years. We should use our legal rights and file a class action through a good consumer lawyer

Total RIP off

Total RIP off! Purchased a 2,000.00 "leather" Lazyboy recliner 10 months ago that started peeling on that back...only to be told that "it was normal wear and tear..."and would not be covered, BUT had it been an accidental tear, puncture or a rip...it would have been covered...go figure! VERY displeased!

SCAM BUSINESS!

I called this joke of a business on Friday, August, 11th, 2023. Legit was on hold for the first 10 minutes trying to get any rep. Once a rep came on I explained how my wife's massage chair was not working / mechanism may be broken.

I also had to point out when I did a claim there was a prior claim that my wife attempted to do and the business denied her cause she was not me her husband who owns the chair / furniture.... The rep said yeah the claim was denied, because there were two cases open which made no sense as they refused to make one from what she was told.

Either way I was told to stay on the line and do not hang up as he was going to transfer me to the escalation team. Again on hold for nearly an hour now with this scam of a business. As I am on hold for nearly 50 minutes a rep, let's call her Amanda gets on the line and I explain everything in detail.

Amanda claims I cannot get the chair repaired as there was two claims open and both denied.... How can any chair be denied being repaired when the business never even seen the chair or attempted to find out why it doesn't work. Top it off I purchased this crap insurance through Bob's Furniture another joke of a business, but that's another story.

I request to speak with a Supervisor or Manager. Again on hold for over 10 minutes waiting for anyone. Now I have been officially on the line for 1 hour and 30 minutes getting zero help. A rep let's call her Mary, gets on the line and claims if anything other than the motor is broken they will not cover it, per the policy and claim.

Now mind you all this is BS!!! Bob's insurance plan covers everything except intentional damages! I personally do not sit myself in any chair as I do not find it comfortable period, my petite wife uses it and after having it for nearly 2 years it just stopped working.

Mary claims if it's anything other than the motor they will not cover it. They were sued multiple times in the past for failure to repair peoples furniture. And after coming on here and seeing all the negative reviews it is a no brainer! They truly are a scam business. Just take peoples money and deny all claims possible!

They even wanted me to appeal a decision through email and I laughed at them and said why would I send an appeal when I have sat on this F'ing phone for over an hour and 45 minutes! Do you freaking job!

They are 100% going to be dealt with legally as I am not finished with them refusing to repair a chair that is covered and I paid insurance for! Top it off to attempt to make any consumer to jump through numerous hurdles for what, so you can deny a claim!

I would never recommend them to anyone.
