Everything was seamless

Everything was seamless. all transfers, tours and hotels were ready without any glitches. The only negative was the Oddson Midtown which was a mediocre hotel. Bad location, bare bones room, although the breakfast was good. The Storm was fine as was the hotel on our two day tour. All of the tours were excellent.

Left without a room despite a confirmation

We arrived at our hostel with a confirmed booking voucher, only to be told that Guide to Iceland had never sent our reservation to the property. As the hostel was fully booked, we were left without a room during peak season.

With no guaranteed alternative offered by Guide to Iceland, we ended up sleeping in the hostel's common area instead of the room we had booked ~6 months in advance.

The original booking was eventually refunded, but the experience caused significant stress and disrupted our trip.

Working with Guide to Iceland was super easy!

Working with Guide to Iceland was super easy. They adjusted our itinerary before and during our trip. I loved the online format of picking our lodging and activities and having everything ready to go. Our trip was seamless and we really had a great time.

Great experience into the wild iceland

Great experience, booking process very good, satisfying locations functional for the trip and for the experiences suggested. Wild and exciting holiday to do again, we are used to drive but i think it' s better to spend 10 days for the tour instead of 8 days. We did the all ring and more than that, visiting iceland by car it's the only way to see and enjoy the beatiful landscape around you. Better (booked) experience blue lagoon and whale watching in the north , but i suggest also to have relax in a spa on the little lake near Geysir , visiting the promonthory of puffins, the glacial lagoon and the wild area of reykyianes in the south west of the island. I miss the glacier with icecave an canyon and the west of iceland and i couldn't go in the glacial lagoon with the boat because i didn't book in advance. I have to come to iceland again ...

I would say just about all activities…

I would say just about all activities had incorrect directions linked to them leading to us being late for most things, we didn’t get all the needed info for getting into hostels all the time, and while many were willing to help us and were nice, a few staff tried to blow us off when we verbalized the need for assistance which in one situation led to a huge loss of money due to not being able to make it to an activity. All of this led to the trip being highly stressful on most days.

Very helpful staff

Very helpful staff, convenient booking, fast responses. No problems during the trip.
Unfortunately, due to my late booking, the accommodation was not perfect for the route, but it was sufficiently convenient. (I booked 18 days before the start).
They helped with additional bookings.

I REALLY enjoyed this trip

I REALLY enjoyed this trip! Specifically, the freedom of having a car allowed me to see more of the country at my own pace. The suggested sites were ones I would have not otherwise found on my own, and it was a HUGE timesaver using the trip plan!

There are a couple small tweaks I would make to the tour, however.

Some of the directions to the locations took me into the middle of nowhere, specifically Deildartunguhver, and Vatnajökull National Park. Double check those locations before heading out.

I would have liked a little bit more time on the southern coast and a little less time between accuracy and Siglo. However, I understand that the locations themselves quite ideal for spending time in. I did not spend as much time in the cities as I should have because I was looking for things to do in between them. Highly recommend a whale watch tour from Dalvik.

I would add seeing the solidified lava near Grindavik, as well as this town of Grindavik itself, specifically the photo display of the 2024-2025 earthquakes and volcano eruption.

As a hiker, I would have appreciated some suggestions of popular hikes, and their distances, and parking directions to the trailhead. I had to do most of that research myself.

The directions to the Hafnarberg Sea Cliffs took me to a parking area, but I believe it was the wrong one . . . Or there was no indication the hike was going to be so long, so I feel like I did waste a little bit of time there. I never made it to the cliffs.

The day that took me from the Borgarnes area to Reykjavík was far too brief in its list of activities, so perhaps you could add something else to that day. I felt like I’d already had plenty of time to explore Reykjavík.

I also struggled with my tiny little car (Kia Picanto) on some of the gravel roads, so if one is going to do a Ring Road tour, I would encourage them to choose an SUV rental.

It was frustrating how often I had to restart in the app each time I navigated back to it. If I was in the app, and then went to Maps or my camera, I would have to go back to the app and start all over again by choosing “Trip Plan” and the date. It would also be nice to be able to save certain provided ideas into a more personalized itinerary so I could navigate to just the locations I was interested in. Traveling alone (and driving!) made the app navigation difficult. Now that I've returned home, I see the PDF information is not quite the same as those on the app. I wish I'd used both.

All of these aside, I couldn't have asked for a better trip overall. It was my first time using a tour agency in this way, and I was quite impressed with all of the options and thorough information provided! I was easily able to book (and cancel) last-minute tours/excursions, and the pricing was in fact competitive! The tour made it easy to see the country by myself with very little planning or stress.

A memorable, fantastic experience!

Fantastic trip!

Booking process was easy. Accommodations were all wonderful, and the detailed itinerary and app provided great information to help us identify all of the places we wanted to explore. All tours that we booked ahead of time were top notch and the highlights of our trip. Agents were responsive when we reached out with a question. Great trip!

It was good experience but wish the customer service was better.

It was good experience but wish the rental car pick up was easier and the hotels were better. A few of the hotels were not very good. My daughter got very sick and they would not refund me for an experience that we had to cancel. Not very good customer service. Overall it was a okay but if I went again I would not use Guide to Iceland. Very expensive for what you get.

Liked the tours and tour guides but....

Liked the tours and tour guides. Disappointed in the hotel choice locations but not the hotels themselves. Expected to be closer to city center to experience the town without a 30-40 walk or a bus/taxi ride.
Really didn't enjoy the bus rides back and forth to the tours which covered the same ground each day. Since the hotels were not near city center anyway, could there have been hotels closer to the tour locations to provide more continuity?
The last days tour meeting place was 35-40 minutes away from the hotel which added to our decision to not to go on the tour.
