Old Gwernyfed is our 16th century home which includes 200 acres of woodland. Gwernyfed Wood is sourced solely from this woodland, we harvest the wood under our sustainable woodland management scheme, transport it to our yard only 1 mile away, where it is processed into a variety of different firewood products and then kiln dried in our own biomass kiln to a moisture content of under 20%. Kiln dried wood burns cleaner and hotter, and for longer, so with Gwernyfed Wood you can be assured of the highest quality product.

No bits or loads of split pieces in the bag, clean and dry wood packed tightly in the large bags. One of the boxes that the bags were contained in was split, but that's down to courier handling rather than poor packing.

Elderly in country cottage depend on wood stove heat and cooking when electric is down , a more frequent experiance recently,,so good dry wood is important !
You would have five stars but bought bags of logs cos of wet weather but some bags had tops ripped so spoilt my storage plan. Excellent wood though.

My order
As always, the order was delivered quickly and well packaged. The heat logs don't last as long as is stated but they do burn well and can be left for long periods. The firelighters are clean, chemical free and efficient. I use the heat logs in conjunction with hard wood logs. Works for me!
