Packing
While most of our clients start off thinking they’ll pack everything themselves, packing can be a much bigger job than most people realise.
It’s easy to underestimate how long you need to set aside to get ready for your move. For example, if you’ve got a three bedroom property, you’re likely to need around 40 packing boxes.
If it takes you on average 20 minutes to pack a box, you could spend at least 14 hours packing.
Self storage
If you want easy access to your belongings, take a look at our sister company Plymouth Self Storage.
You can choose the amount of storage space you need, and how long you want it for.
Once you’ve got your storage space, you’ll have access to it six days a week with no extra charges.

Hackworthy were professional
Hackworthy were professional, friendly and helpful from quoting right through to collecting the boxes after we had unpacked. They were prompt and efficient in packing on the first day, and unloading in our new house the next day went just as smoothly. We would definitely recommend their services.

Removals with storage between houses
We sold our house last year and Hackworthy's had a competitive quote so we went with them. They provided all the packing material for us to self-pack all the small items. On removal day, they worked hard, especially considering they had to lift heavy furniture down 2 floors and a steep drive. The men were polite. The storage was good - we had to wait 7 months (over the winter) until we could move into our new house. There were no signs of damp or storage problems. The final move was fine too. We would use them again, though hopefully we won't have to move again for a while.

The team at Hackworthy and Sons were extremely professional and helpful from the word go. Their quote was the most thorough and also the most competitively priced for a full packing and removal service. The staff who completed our packing and removal service were excellent and could not have been more friendly...i think this was helped by regular cups of tea and biscuits as they worked extremely hard!!

Everything you'd want from professional removers
Hackworthy offered value for money but more importantly, Kevin's estimation of what was required to move our all belongings was spot on and the four man team of removers were brilliant! All the guys were courteous, careful, patient, good humoured and everything else you'd want from professional removers. We highly recommend Hackworthy & Sons and their sister company Plymouth Self Storage where we currently rent a storage room.

First class removal company
First class removal company. Recently moved us from Essex to Devon. Excellent service from “online survey” (Kevin)through to moving. One giant truck and 2 fantastic guys, Aaron & Corrie, we’re with us for almost 3 days. Not one breakage and great care was taken with our belongings. The fragile pack was well worth it. I can 100% recommend this company
I can 100% recommend this company. Not only were they the cheapest we approached by using their online quotation form. They were by far the most professional company and handled our move with efficiency, courtesy and expertise.
We moved on the hottest day of the year so far and nothing was too much trouble.
We would not hesitate to recommend them.
