My move from Devon to Portishead

I invited four firms to tender for packing up and removals for my downsizing move from Devon to Portishead. My sprawling Devon farmhouse was a large property with a lot of antique furniture, artwork and books accrued over a lifetime that would take a skilled team at least two days to pack up.
I was most impressed by the professional approach of Hackworthy's representative, he clearly knew the removals business well and was able to give reassuring answers to all my questions.
Their quote turned out to be the lowest and was less than half of the highest. It was a no brainer to appoint them.On the day the move went smoothly when their well organised team went into action. Despite many difficulties they maintained good humour at all times and dealt with problems as they appeared. it is worth noting that there were no breakages.
I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking for a competitive and reliable removals contractor.

I completed the online inventory, and got a quote with them, which was a lot lower than the competition, so I gave them a call to talk it through. Vicky at Hackworthy took the time to make sure that the right number of people and vans were assigned to the job, making sure she understood the move I was making and spending the time to get it right, this was a great start. On the morning of the move the first Van arrived bang on time, and not only were they completely cool wafting for us to get our cats in their travel boxes, Dan took the time to walk though every room with us making sure he was clear on exactly what needed to go, and what was to stay.

I then took the cats and a few little things on the hour and a half drive for the move and Dan's team followed along after the vans were loaded. Unloading was completed very quickly, but also very well, going to the trouble to reassemble the bed and make sure everything was where we wanted it.

all the way though the guys were friendly & polite, everything was moved quickly, and nothing at all was broken. They also left the old property tidy, going as far as cleaning up the tea station I'd set up for them. I can't find anything to criticise, and therefor five stars.

The Hackworthy team made the move less stressful, and were not only efficient, but also paying attention to what I needed, and what needed to be done.

Hackworthy & Sons moved my 89 year old mother-in-law from Wiltshire where she had lived in the house for 35 years to Devon. The two Tom’s were amazing, they were incredibly polite and professional, both, handling the move with enormous respect and sensitivity.

Hackworthy conducted a video call viewing and provided a very competitive quote. Overall the service was impressive, communication was excellent and I can only highly recommend them

The 2 workmen from Hackworthy removals were very professional from when they arrived at our house until they left us in our Bungalow they asked us where abouts would you like your furniture and boxes nothing was too much trouble,excellent service from them,well done guys and thankyou.

What can I say, Stewart and Tyler were just the best, very professional also very understanding. Moving house with a person who has dementia very stressful but these guys took a lot of the stress off me.
They arrived on time, and they never seemed to stop, all of my belonging where treated with care, even the fish and fish tank where taken care off.
I couldn’t rate the guys of the guys in the office highly enough.

We were absolutely dreading our removal day, we were thinking we were going to get a crew that wasn't helpful or understanding and instead we got 4 of the most amazing guys; Paul, Roger, Dan and Tom, were absolute heros and so, so funny, they made the days fun and enjoyable and really relieved any stress we had, I cannot recommend these guys enough, I'm only sad that we didn't know about these guys sooner otherwise we would have chosen them for our removal to NZ, thank you so much guys, you were a blessing xxx

The whole process was very professional and all staff very helpful. The actual removals team were excellent, easy to get on with and very helpful. The removals to our new home was made as easy as possible and certainly helped to minimise stress. I would definitely recommend and a big thank you to the entire team, well done on a 1 st class service.

Hackworthy and Sons Ltd were exactly what one would wish for from start to finish. On the telephone they were calm, caring and courteous and quietly made sure they were clear about specific needs and aspects of the move. They were also understanding, unfazed and helpful about possible date changes due to complicated legalities and subsequent late confirmation of whether I was able to move directly into a rental home with all my possessions or would be putting them into storage on the day. Wrapping products were at less cost than from local storage venues and delivered by the requested time. On the day all the removers were upbeat, with a much needed good sense of humour and could not have been more helpful or have done a better job. Hackworthy and Sons removals were the least stressful aspect of selling my house and I could not recommend them more strongly in every way.

The team at Hackworthy & Sons were amazing. From start to finish they went above and beyond to make moving as stress free as possible. Cannot praise them enough. Friendly, cheerful, polite and curious. If I move again I’ll certainly be using them again and could not recommend enough. Thank you for all you did.
