Mixed experience

I used their services back in 2024, but thought I'd share my thoughts. My initial impressions of them were actually quite good. I can get why some would be frustrated by the forms, but I did appreciate the rigour involved.

The issue is that subsequent to this, everything felt financially driven and lacking in the compassion and care they project in their social media presence. Some of this is structural in that there are some flaws in the way they structure their service. Essentially, the client has to go on a blind date based on a small set of information that can only be reviewed for a brief period of time. You pay an additional fee upon a successful match. Unfortunately, this is defined in a rather superficial way which appears to prioritize their revenue over client outcomes. After my unsuccessful match (hard to succeed under the circumstances), there was an attempt to change the terms of service to be more favourable to them.

The other issues stem from the overall lack of empathy and care demonstrated. I found them to be very performative on the double date. There wasn't anything authentic or genuine about their conduct. And at the end I didn't find them to demonstrate or carry themselves in a manner in keeping with the image they project.

This is ultimately another capitalistic endeavour, so don't expect more.

I used this service at the end of 2024

I used this service at the end of 2024, but their trustpilot page did not exist then (as far as I am aware) I wish it did because I would have spoken out sooner.

I had an extremely negative experience with this business, and my main complaint is their lack of professionalism and sensitivity towards their customers who are going through this difficult process of getting married.

Based on my experience, I found them to be judgemental and lacking empathy towards their clients, which can really impact the confidence and self-esteem of their customers.

When concerns were brought up, I found that they got very defensive, instead of taking responsibility for their actions or trying to improve on themselves.

The whole experience left a very sour taste in my mouth and impacts me to this day.

Arrogant, incompetent, and a total waste of time.

I am writing this review out of sheer frustration and to warn others. My experience with HalalMatch.ca was, without exaggeration, one of the most unprofessional and disrespectful interactions I have ever had with a service provider.

From the outset, the staff exhibited a shocking level of rudeness and arrogance. They do not listen. I clearly outlined my preferences and realistic deal-breakers for a potential partner, only to be met with immediate judgment and criticism. Instead of offering constructive feedback or working within my stated criteria, the representative chose to lecture and critique my personal choices. This is a matchmaking service, not a moral tribunal. Their job is to facilitate a search, not to pass sanctimonious judgment.

The process itself is bizarre and contradictory. They require clients to answer a long list of scripted questions via video recording. However, the rules are nonsensical: you cannot read the questions aloud, you must memorize your responses, and yet you are somehow supposed to appear "natural" and "authentic." How can anyone be authentic when forced to rehearse and regurgitate a script? The entire exercise feels like a performative game designed by people with no understanding of human interaction. It’s artificial, stressful, and completely counterproductive.

After jumping through these ridiculous hoops, I waited patiently for six months. The result? Absolutely nothing. When I followed up, it became clear that their promises were empty. To hear there was essentially no one in their database that even remotely matched my fairly standard criteria after half a year is both laughable and unacceptable. It confirms this is a poorly managed operation from top to bottom.

Ultimately, HalalMatch.ca is a service that plays games with people's time and emotions. They lack basic professionalism, common sense, and respect for their clients. The staff conduct themselves with a clownish arrogance that is entirely undeserved given their demonstrable incompetence. They have no class and deliver no results.

Save your time, your money, and your dignity. Avoid HalalMatch.ca at all costs.

Irritating, phony, unhelpful matchmakers.

These people are unbelievably bossy and don't care about your needs. They don't listen. They aren't considerate. The forms you complete for them must be perfect according to their standards. Even the 3 minute video which is the weird requirement from the forms is ridiculous as none everybody can upload it on or have enough internal storage to send it via Gmail. What kind of time wasting requirement is this??? Not everyone has the time to record a perfect video for their match makers. They are very unflexible and reasonable. It's been a few months and they haven't found me 1 single match. They are all talk, no action. Don't waste your time or money dealing with these clowns.

Exclusionary, Inflexible, and Unprofessional – Avoid HalalMatch.ca

HalalMatch.ca markets itself as a high-end matchmaking service, but in reality, it’s disorganized, dismissive, and unwilling to accommodate diverse needs. As someone who is neurodiverse, I found their process needlessly rigid and frustrating—they refuse to make simple adjustments for individuals who process information differently. Their one-size-fits-all approach shows a complete lack of understanding (or care) for clients with unique needs. There is a lack of accommodation, and a lack of understanding from their end. They are not for neurodiverse individuals and provide an overall poor service.

The lengthy, repetitive forms (which don’t save progress) are already a hassle, but their unreasonable photo requirements and grilling interview-style questions make it worse. When I asked for minor accommodations, I was met with impatience and condescension—particularly from Zaid, who seems more interested in gatekeeping than actually helping people find matches.

Despite charging for their services, they fail at the basics:

- No flexibility for neurodiverse users
- No empathy for those with disabilities or caregiving responsibilities
- No real matches—just empty promises and wasted time

Their podcast and book are shallow, offering recycled advice that doesn’t work in practice. And given how few success stories they actually have, it’s clear their fake-positive reviews are just for show.

If you’re looking for a service that respects your time, needs, and intelligence, look elsewhere. HalalMatch.ca is judgmental, inefficient, and a complete disappointment.

All talk, no action Match makers. Time wasters.

Disappointing & Unrealistic Standards – Waste of Time & Money.

I had high hopes for HalalMatch.ca, but my experience was nothing short of frustrating and unprofessional. The registration process is unnecessarily tedious—requiring a five-page form with vague, poorly written questions that demand at least 250 characters per response. Worse, the site doesn’t save progress, forcing users to restart repeatedly. For someone with a disability or limited time, this lack of consideration is unacceptable.

The team, particularly Zaid, comes across as grumpy, snobby, and unhelpful, with an attitude that makes you feel like an inconvenience rather than a valued member. Their obsession with LinkedIn-style professional headshots is ridiculous—not everyone has the time or resources for expensive photoshoots, especially when juggling work or caring for a sick relative. Yet, they reject genuine, normal pictures, making the process even more exclusionary.

Their database is small, despite acting like some "elite" service. The podcast and book are gimmicky, offering impractical advice that doesn’t translate into real matches. And let’s be honest—many of their **glowing reviews seem fake, much like other platforms (*cough* Muzz *cough*).

Save yourself the hassle. HalalMatch.ca is judgmental, unrealistic, and a waste of money. There are far better platforms out there that actually respect their users.
