Online website opinion only

In store is a different story, but online is bothersome. The online website that is, I haven't had an issue ordering Half Price Books through Amazon. Maybe you'll get the book, maybe you won't. Conditions aren't always super helpful ahead of time. Shipping is per item, not per location. Date of review, not experience.

I went into the Kenwood Store. Sory I did.

I went into the Kenwood, Ohio hpb store, taking 4 large bags of books, some hard back, some not, magazines, and movies. I had just purchased some of the movies For $10 each at Kroger. I had a hard back book-a gun book-that was stamped $40. I was offered $6.38 for literally hundreds of dollars of items. These people are truly despicable. Most folks would say why take the offer-because, I drove 120 miles, round trip, to get there and I am disabled-so didn't want to drag the items back home. And I wanted to see if they had cleaned up their despicable business practices. I complained on Facebook and was instructed to call their c/ serv. number. I did and told the person there that if I go into their store and find just the book worth $40 on their shelf for more than $6.38 I would refer the matter to the Attorney General in Ohio. She refused to speak to me after that. She went to their pathetic go-to that they scan the items into a system and blah-blah. It is a system they made up to cheat people? To all of the people that feel they were cheated at this business - take a couple of minutes-literally-all it will take and refer the matter to your Attorney General in your state. And boycott these people.

Unreliable & misleading vendor

Made an online purchase from this store. The items were marked as “in-stock & ready to ship”. The order went through and I checked, the items were not available after my order was confirmed. The language used in the confirmation email led me to believe that the order was 100% successful. Imagine my surprise when they cancelled two of the items from the order the next day. #1- HPB needs a better, more reliable, and more immediate inventory system. #2- If your system makes an error like that, you need to do more than just apologize. You need to make good on the order, even if you have to take a loss on that transaction by procuring the item elsewhere to make good on the order which you confirmed.
