While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Highly suspicious and untrustworthy way to get customers. I received an unsolicited marketing email from this company pitching a service to help businesses claim back “research and development” costs from HMRC. I never opted in to any marketing list and did not give permission to be contacted.
Their outreach felt like mass cold-emailing, which is a major red flag for any firm operating in the finance/tax space.
R&D claims can be complex and, depending on circumstances, can carry compliance risk — yet the email was framed as an easy win, with no meaningful mention of downsides or suitability.
If a company needs to spam businesses to generate leads for a financial/tax service, that tells you a lot about their standards.
I would not trust them with anything involving HMRC.

We had rang a few R&D companies asking for help with what we felt may be a claim. All of them were initially interested but then lost interest when they found out we had such few staff. We were then told we don't qualify.
I then found Hamilton Wood on Google and spoke to Chris. Chris explained he felt we may have a claim and that he suspected we were told otherwise as the other companies simply didn't want to do the work with so few staff.
We spoke to Chris and Simon a few times and after a few weeks, the claim was ready. The claim was submitted and a short while later we got an award. We can't rate them highly enough. Thank you.
