Best software for all scanners I'm using it for many years. I use it with my Nikon Coolscan V, my old Espson 2400 and my new Epson V600. I'm using it also with my printer Brother. So many possib... See more

A plethora of settings or just auto scan
Assuming the drivers for the scanner are well installed then Vuescan does its job perfectly, allowing for any settings wished. Great correction system for misaligned documents.
I'm new to VueScan
I'm new to VueScan, and I can't believe how good it is. I've been getting along for years with a flat bed scanner. This software has opened up a whole world of functionality that I never knew existed. Thanks guys.
Works great with my Plustek film scanner
Works great with my trusty Plustek Optic Film 8200 film scanner. No complaints so far, though I have not done a lot of scanning yet.
This is very easy to use
This is very easy to use. It's vesitile. It supports nearly any scanner.
Allowed my to continue using an older scanner
This software has allowed my to continue to use a working, but old scanner that is not supported with a driver in newer windows OS. It supports the full feature set that the scanner has built in, when the limited driver from the OEM does not. Have been using the software through 4 or 5 major releases. Not completely happy about the software now being offered as a subscription, rather than as software product.
VueScan - Twenty Eight Years Old and Getting Better with Age
Back in the old days — way, way before VueScan existed — scanning was a rare and temperamental beast. If a printer company offered scanning software , it usually only worked with that company’s printers, and often only with the current models. Buy a new printer/scanner combo and you’d likely need an entirely new set of drivers and software to make it work.
I remember one Canon printer in particular that lost software support. Before long, the scanner stopped functioning. Apparently the universe had decided that perfectly good hardware should be retired because someone in a boardroom wanted to sell me another printer. Then VueScan arrived and breathed life into the Cannon. It was a miracle! That or great software some great software developers were up to a challenge.
VueScan felt less like software and more like a gift sent from the technology gods to rescue abandoned scanners everywhere. The folks at Hamrick somehow manage to keep old, current, and brand-new scanners working across your old or new setup. — something many printer manufacturers seem oddly unable to do themselves.
That's o.k. because VueScan is continuously updated with new features, improved speed, better compatibility, and support for more hardware. Install it, and VueScan simply finds your scanner and gets to work. Documents, photographs, slides, film negatives, diaries, beer recipes, family archives — if it can fit on a scanner bed, VueScan can handle it.
Got a new scanner? VueScan likely supports it. Trying to restore old timey whiney family photos? They’ve got tools, guidance and now AI enhancements for that.
Most importantly, VueScan is just pleasant to use. It solves problems instead of creating them. In a world where software subscriptions are perpetual and hardware is abandoned faster than a gym membership, VueScan feels refreshingly honest.
It’s worth every penny. In fact, I’ve purchased additional licenses over the years — not because I needed them, but because I wanted to support a company that actually takes care of its users.
If you scan you need VueScan.
Excellent Product
I have been using VueScan for many years now and find it to be a useful and stable platform that meets all of my scanning needs.

Vue Scan has been reliable over 10 years of constant improvement, it does scanning well. And for me has a nativer Windows 64 ARM version a bonus
Routinely AWOL
VueScan routinely loses the scanner, suddenly announcing that it cannot work with the plug-in. When it does work, if I decide to cancel a scan, it freezes and locks up the laptop. Nothing wrong with the new Mac Air M5 or its ports or cables. But when I asked for help the developer blamed a "flaky" cable. Of course, it couldn't be the software! The idea of a company developing software so old scanners still work is fabulous. But that doesn't matter if it's flawed.
Not enough stars!
Not enough stars!. Brilliant easy-to-use software. Change your printer/scanner? No need to learn new scanning software. Picked up an elderly but brilliant Minolta slide scanner on Ebay - no problem, Vuescan operated it perfectly.

I am using it for some time now on a Mac (not using the manufacturer drivers) and the program is reasonably intuitive. I use it for straight forward scanning and I don't have to look any further than this program...
Scanning software on Macintosh
Well designed, used to scan documents with my HP scannner-printer, works equally well with dedicated photo negative scanner. Frequent software updates keeps pace with Mac OS updates.
A great program for old photos
I have been scanning photos and old slides - including 3D slides.
I really appreciate that I can use a perfectly old scanner thanks to VueScan. There is a bit of a learning curve, but the scans are getting better and better. Upgrades are great, too.

For at least 25 years
Long ago(!) the driver for my scanner no longer worked after an operating system was updated. I found VueScan and tried it - and I've been using it for at least 25 years. The Hamrick team routinely updates the software for new (and ancient?) scanners and OS updates. Real people answer your emails.
Excelent for film scanning
Awesome software giving second life for old (but gold) film scanners. Runs flawlessly on Windows 11, provides drivers for a lot of different scanners and makes the whole process nice and easy!
VueScan works all the time with ease
VueScan works all the time with ease. Superb features makes this scanning software stand head and shoulders above all others that I have used.
